Take a musical ride with Forebear with their single “People’s Champ”. This to me is an experimental piece that some will get into right away and others might not. The single has some good rhythms mixed together and Forebear even tests the perception of the groups singers and how the lyrics are sung. Tribe Society gives the listeners here at ComicPop and at large a hard hitting refix of Major Lazer’s “Lean On”. The single features M0 and with this refix the listener won’t have a chance to get bored. Tribe Society hits hard from the beginning with their instrumentals and drives them all the way through the single. The star is definitely the instrumentals which in this case for me works. Several have enjoyed Rozes single “R U Mine”. So much so that two remixes have come about for it. SteLouse and Lost Kings have done remixes for “R U Mine” and each one sounds cool. Sneaky Bones has just released his album Dream of the End and is sharing with us his single “Dreams”. This single has that American Folk sound to it. Very reminiscent of something that Dylan would have sung. The folk style also lends itself to the title with it’s rhythm because to me it makes it sound dreamy for lack of anything better I can think of to describe it. Autumn in June is hitting the scene with the single “HEROin KIDZ”. The single’s lyric might not appeal to some, but it is a legit topic to cover. The single’s vocals tend to get lost at times within the powerful instrumentals. The rhythm is good and catchy, but it isn’t a fast single or a slow one, it hits that in between stage. I also love hearing the trumpets. Some like the vocals to blend in with the instruments, I tend to lean more to nice clean and clear vocals, because the voice is an instrument in and of itself and needs to be in the spot light. Love the horns! Attic Empire’s single “Astro Getaway” gives a vibe of the late 1970’s early 1980’s, which falls right in my wheel house. The music industry has gotten away from using the myriad of instruments that can be used to augment or even make a song. It’s great to see with Attic Empire that they aren’t shying away form all the musical possibilities. This might be more of a niche area today, but people like me enjoy the sound. Love it…keep it up! Rozes hits the ground running with her single “R U Mine”. The single starts out going slow and you are like okay a ballad, which is fine because she has a nice clear voice for this. Island Ap0llo has been kind enough to share two of their singles with us. The first is “Miracle” which I like the beat to that gets your head and body to moving. The bridge takes you in a different direction that changes the tone of the single and then comes back to a lighter tone for the last verse and then into a dark tone again to close out the single. I can appreciate them experimenting like this, but some listeners might get lost. Know “Lions Eyes” is one that everyone that knows me I like even better. When the song is upbeat and catchy you have me hooked and I’ve already listened to it multiple times.
