David Nyro takes the ComicPop listeners on a journey through one of the world’s crisis situations. In David’s latest music video, for the single “Stand”, he as teamed up with CNN documentary filmmaker Chris Morrow and refugee outreach worker Dr. Alison Thompson to produce this haunting yet moving music video. Seeing pictures of the Syrian refugee situation bridges many miles between different parts of the world. However, when you put these pictures to a moving piece of music the emotion really comes through. David Nyro is allowing us to view their music video through his YouTube channel – Richard:
Oblio’s 3rd Single “Weatherman”
Oblio is giving the ComicPop listener’s the opportunity to listen to their third single, “Weatherman”, from their upcoming Autophobia album. This single has a blending of their rock and folk music stylings. The verse is more of the folk influence and then the rock comes in with the chorus. Firebug’s Lyric Video for “For the Love” Single
Firebug is sharing with the ComicPop listeners her lyric video for her single “For the Love”. This is one that if you enjoy the 1970’s style of music you will dig this. Juliette Tworsey, the vocalist for the group has a voice that is reminiscent of Stevie Nicks. “For the Love” is from the group upcoming album Homeostasis which comes out in late 2016, so keep an eye out at your favorite digital downloaders to pick it up when it becomes available. Until then here is Firebug’s “For the Love” lyric video from their YouTube channel – Richard:
The Birds Over Arkansas have “So Much Sky” To Sing About
The Folk/Americana group Birds Over Arkansas is sharing with the ComicPop listeners their single “So Much Sky” . Scott Haskitt and Laura Hartshorn blend really well and have strong voices that don’t get lost within the instrumentals. Scott also plays guitar and Laura is the keyboardist of the group along with John Mondick on guitar, mandolin, and vocals and Ryan Berg on drums and percussion. With this single I like everything, but what they did at the beginning was my cup of tea. It sounds like they are emulating a vinyl record that is scratchy. This is nostalgic to some, but for me I like the nice clean crisp music and after the first 40ish seconds that is what the listener gets in spades. All in all this is a solid piece and look forward to hearing more from them. Birds Over Arkansas have the album this single is on scheduled to be released later this year, but as of this time I do not have the information of the album’s title. Until their album becomes available here is Birds over Arkansas’ “So Much Sky” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Oblio Introduces Us to “Lilly”
Oblio is sharing with our listeners again their latest single, “Lilly”. “Lilly” hits one of my many sweet spots. It is a really nice paced folk/americana single, that is from their Autophobia album. Just after a couple of listens I was able to pick up the lyrics and have a fun time singing along with them. To me if a song can get you to sing along with it then the artist have definitely hit upon something. Take a moment and sing along with Oblio with their single “Lilly” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Patrick Krief’s Lyric Video for “Deo Gratias”
Patrick Krief is sharing with the ComicPop Library listeners his latest lyric video for his single “Deo Gratias”. “Deo Gratias” is a hauntingly beautiful introspective single. How Patrick relays the lyrics and the sway of the music captures you in its simplicity and almost makes the listener almost ache, but in a good way. The lyric video was directed by Christopher Mills of Modest Mouse. The video keeps that same simplistic feel, but is haunting with it being done in black and white. Really nice work done by both artists. Patrick will be dropping a double album, automanic blue, at the end of September that will include this single so keep an eye out at your digital vendors for it. Until then enjoy Patrick Krief’s lyric video for “Deo Gratias” through his YouTube page – Richard:

The video starts out like it’s going to be a simple video where we just watch the band sing the single in a garage. However, shortly into the video it moves forward into a story progression were the band is pay homage to the Screamesque or Slasher movie thrillers. Since I generally like those movies I had fun with this music video and I thank the majority of our listeners will like it to.
