B.P.R.D. Creative Team at Emerald City Con

Librarians in the Seattle area take note.  This is a cool chance to see the creative team of B.P.R.D., from the pages of Hellboy, at the Emerald City ComicCon.  The Con is being held March 4-6, so let your patrons that love them some B.P.R.D. know about this as soon as possible.  If any of your patrons are going you can also ask them to bring you some swag back to you can put up in your library for a display.  Dark Horse reports that the team will host a panel on Saturday and their will be a limited supply of a B.P.R.D. Dark Horse Named Manga Pub. of the Year

Dark Horse’s site has a brief article (link below) on being named Manga Publisher of the Year by Diamond Comics Distributors Gem Awards.  This being Dark Horse’s 25th year of publishing this makes a nice feather in the hat for them.  Out of the 25 years, the site mentions they have published manga for 23 of those years, most notiably Oh My Goddess! and Blade of the Immortal.

Dark Horse, Nickelodeon, and the Last Airbender

Librarians need to let all of their American and Japanese animation fans know about this exciting news concerning one of Nickelodeon’s most popular animated series.  Dark Horse’s site is reporting that they have teamed up with Nickelodeon to bring out an Avatar the Last Airbender graphic novel.  The article states that the book will be 240 pages and is tentatively titled The Lost Adventures to be released July 13.  Also over at Hollywood.com, Natalie Silverman reports that Nickelodeon is planning a sequel to The Last Airbender with a working title of Legend of Korra, the adventures of the next avatar.  Follow the links below for the respective articles.
