Netflix is looking to add to it’s rooster of original content. ICv2 is reporting that they have asked for a 10 episode season based on Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s, Dark Horse Comics, The Umbrella Academy. Universal Gable Productions has announced Steve Blackman as the executive producer and show runner and it is slated for a 2018 release.
Dark Horse Comics is continuing the Aliens franchise with Aliens: Dead Orbit. If you are a fan of this universe you will want to jump on board with issue #1 or if you prefer the collected editions for your library’s or for a public library Dark Horse is pretty good at collecting their series for just such a reason. Dark Horse Comics is coming out with a new supernatural apocalyptic series entitled Baltimore: The Red Kingdom, written by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden with art by Peter Bergting. For fans of this genre you might want to get the individual issues. However, Dark Horse usually collects their titles into a collected edition, which libraries and everyone that enjoys the collected editions will want to watch for towards the Spring or Summer on this title, which will probably when Dark Horse will release one. For all the Beatle’s fans and comic book fans Dark Horse Comics has published a graphic novel that will blend the two. The Fifth Beatle: The Brian Epstein Story has been released in an expanded edition to add to your collections, written by Vivek J. Tiwary and art by Andrew C. Robinson. The series is slated to start February 2017 and then after it’s run, like other Mike Mignola works this will more than likely be gathered into a collected edition. Dark Horse Comics is starting a new series by Greg Pak and Mirko Colak entitled Kingsway West. For the comic book readers that like to buy the individual issues the first issue is available. For those that like their comic books in collected editions, Dark Horse is pretty good about collecting their series so you can add the title to your collections. Neil Gaiman is teaming up with Colleen Doran and Dark Horse Comics to bring us Troll Bridge. If it is like anything else by Gaiman this one will be a must buy for all of his fans and readers. Libraries will also want to place this on their order list as well. It’s hard to go wrong with Gaiman. The scheduled release date is September 21 with a $14.99 MSRP. Thanks to ICv2 for the update.
