Metaltown Trailer

metaltown

Looks to be a little bit of a steampunkish novel by Kristen Simmons called Metaltown.  I’m sure this will appeal to some of our listeners that are into steampunk and the apocalyptic genres.  Thanks to TorForge’s YouTube channel for the following trailer:

Levy & The Oaks Go “Slowly in the Water”

blackpandaPRlevy-and-the-oaks

Levy & The Oaks are sharing with the ComicPop listeners their first single “Slowly in the Water” from their self-titled album.  “Slowly in the Water” has a sound that reminds me of something out of the gulf coast area with the river and swamps.  I think I get that because the single has a folk/rock feel but the guitar has an ominous sound through out the song to give it a little bit of an otherworldly feel.  I enjoy the sound that Levy & The Oaks have produced with this single and look forward to hearing more from their upcoming album.  The album will be out this October so keep an eye out for it on your digital downloaders, but until then enjoy Levy & The Oaks’ “Slowly in the Water” through SoundCloud – Richard:

World of Tanks Trailer

tanks

World of Tanks isn’t just a game anymore.  Dark Horse Comics and World of Tanks have teamed up to bring everyone a comic book series based around the game.  They have Garth Ennis and Carlos Esquerra working on the project, which are fan favorites.  So if you are into single issues the first issue will be hitting soon and after the run I’m pretty sure it will be collected into a graphic novel format for collections that feature them.  Check out the trailer from Dark Horse Comics YouTube channel:

Swaai Boys’ Single “Dana of Dendur”

The Swaai Boys are sharing with us their single “Dana of Dendur” from their upcoming EP.  This group has that California beach feel that you got from the music of Jan & Dean and Beach Boys.  All that beach/island music that has a way of making a person relax.  So grab a drink, have a set in your beach chair, lean back and let Swaai Boys’ “Dana of Dendur” wash over you through SoundCloud – Richard:

Oblio Introduces Us to “Lilly”

KoralYoungLogo1oblio-3

Oblio is sharing with our listeners again their latest single, “Lilly”.  “Lilly” hits one of my many sweet spots.  It is a really nice paced folk/americana single, that is from their Autophobia album.  Just after a couple of listens I was able to pick up the lyrics and have a fun time singing along with them.  To me if a song can get you to sing along with it then the artist have definitely hit upon something.  Take a moment and sing along with Oblio with their single “Lilly” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Rod Melancon Tells Us About the “Lights of Carencro”

KoralYoungLogo1rod

Rod Melancon is sharing with the ComicPop listeners his music video for his single “Lights of Carencro”.  Rod’s style reminds me of something you might hear from John Mellencamp.  It has one foot in the traditional rock scene and another in the country scene, almost southern rock.  “Lights of Carencro” has an old 1970’s throwback to it.  The single is a “story” song and it has an old tinny radio sound to the vocals.  Most people would recognize this sound effect as being similar to the CB radio voice in the “Convoy” single by C.W. McCall.  Now in “Lights of Carencro” the lyrics tell of a tragedy that befalls a family and end’s with the brothers coming together again in a haunting way (if I said anymore it would spoil the song).  The music video that Rod has with the single is just as haunting.  This single will be available next year on Rod’s LA 14 EP.  Until then check out “Lights of Carencro” music video by Rod Melancon, that he has provided through his YouTube channel – Richard:
