We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
Here is another one to make you feel old. Superman’s 75 Anniversary. In the short below Zack Snyder created an animated history of Superman and presented it at the New York Comic Con. The short is schedule to air on the Cartoon Network on October 16 and will be an extra on the Man of Steel DVD/Blu-ray release, set for November. Are you ready for Valentines. Yes it is a few months away, but Premium Bandai has put up for pre-order two valentine chocolate sets for you anime valentine. The featured anime is Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Sailor Moon. Both are pictured above. The Madoka Magica is in a gold-stamped and embossed box featuring Madoka and Homura and the Sailor Moon box has Sailor Moon in silhouette. Each box contains ten pieces of chocolate and is priced at 2,626 yen ($26.60). This would be a cool valentine, so if you can do it go for it.
This one is a little strange, but that’s alright. Sanrio has announced that in 2014 there will be a merchandising crossover between Hello Kitty and The Simpsons. What is probably even more shocking is that age of these two properties. If you don’t keep track of how old things are this will shock you like it did me. In 2014, Hello Kitty turns 40 and The Simpsons turns 25. I don’t feel this old, but I guess I am.

Lots Of Love’s Jessica Fleischer found unconventional inspiration for writing her twee confection “It’s So Hard:” a debilitating crush on her yoga teacher. “He was the first person who exposed me to the idea of self-love,” she said, “the lyric ‘it’s so hard to pay attention to your life’ actually came directly from him.”
The new video for her upbeat, retro-styled “It’s So Hard” is simple: a white background and a host of Fleischer’s alter egos, from a vampy cabaret crooner to a Fiona-Apple styled flower child, each cut revealing a new chanteuse.
Jessica is on a roll. Once you listen to her you will be caught up within the music and it’s retro ’50’s/’60’s style. Listening to her is a breath of fresh air. But wait there is more, she is also a children’s book author with Little Luna and the Universe. So when you are purchasing her album don’t forget about the book! The music video to “It’s So Hard” is for you to enjoy.

This week is Kansas’ Annual Library Conference. So I will be there as part of my profession. Also ComicPop Library will be there! Chris, April, and I (Richard) will be presenting and recording on Thursday of the conference. One more post will be done today for a new ComicPop Library Episode. At conference I will be using some of my spare time to package our visit with the London based band Strangefruit so I can post it next Friday, October 18. So stay tuned for that visit it was a lot of fun! Everyone out there have a great week.
This is a title that if you were unaware of you might want to pick up for you children’s graphic novel collections. IDW has the My Little Pony license and it has already released it’s second My Little Pony graphic novel and they should be able to be ordered from your jobbers your library uses or through a local comic book shop.
Art and Gem’s has some cool ring available and some still in the concept stage. Three are pictured above: Pokeball Engagement Ring (Concept); Police Box Wedding Bands ($380.00), and an Arc Reactor ring ($660.00). If you want to make a small statement about your Evangelion fandom and have the extra money lying around this could be for you. The Eva Store is selling gloves, knit caps, and hoodies (pictured above), for the Winter season, that are Eva Unit themed.
