12th Doctor

I thought about not posting this because most people have already seen it.  However, my family enjoys Doctor Who that I could not post it without getting in trouble with them.  Get ready for the 12th Doctor as Peter Capaldi takes the helm.

Kiki’s 2nd Trailer

In this trailer we get to see more of the live-action scene’s from Kiki’s Delivery Service.  Of course we see Kiki, played by Fuka Koshiba, and for the first time we get to see her companion Jiji, the black cat, voiced by Minako Kotobuki.  The background song is the theme song to the movie entitled “Wake Me Up” performed by Mai Kuraki.  The movie is set to be released in Japan on March 1 and then hopefully by the end of the year fans can purchase it for their collections.  Thanks to “maidigitv” for sharing the following trailer:

Elric’s Spear Created

Adrian Delivers Her Album “Be Your Own Saviour”

ADRIAN RELEASES NEW ALBUM

BE YOUR OWN SAVIOUR

Soaked in dark grunge and 90’s alt rock, Adrian has the power trio of powerful female vocals, slick guitar notes and great production behind the release of her new album Be Your Own Saviour. The angst and aggression paired with her edgy style create an album that satisfies those looking for hard tunage with just a slight hint of appealing pop.

The album is a heavy rock journey of melancholy nostalgia with Adrian cooing against shaded guitar notes and gritty drum beats. Adrian, never one to leave a listener unelectrified, sewed her songs together and created a solid album that will leave grungy arena pop fans salivating for more.

“I have mixed feelings about Adrain. There are multiple elements of her music that I enjoy but I’m not sure if it vibes well all put together. Her song Bluespace was an instrumental song, which I have no problem with. The song just never really went anywhere, it got a little boring, to put it bluntly. Her other songs were a little hard for me to listen to as well. The music seemed to be fighting each other instead of complimenting one another. I wasn’t a big fan of the album cover either, it was a bit weird to me and didn’t make a lot of sense.”

I, Frankenstein Trailer

Here’s a new look at the Frankenstein story.  This movie is more of what I would call a Horror/Adventure than a straight up Horror movie.  It looks like a fun movie and with the adventure side to it will help with cross over appeal.  Thanks to “Machinima” on YouTube for the following trailer:

7 Eleven Teams with Gundam again for Store Promotional

The Japanese Retailers seem to have the coolest connections than anywhere else.  The 7 Eleven’s in Japan has teamed up with Bandai again for a store promotional.  Starting mid-January the stores will begin selling an exclusive Gundam model kit.  Which is pictured above.  If we could get our stores to do promotionals like this it would be really cool.  For the full story and additional photos follow the link back to AnimeNewsNetwork: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2014-01-20/japanese-7-elevens-get-another-gundam-kit

Bearstronaut’s are Landing at SXSW

Bearstronaut
Bearstronaut set to play SXSW March 2014

Whether on stage or on record, the Boston-based electronic-pop quartet has made a name in their hometown for sparking instant dance parties. Despite their Northeast origins, Bearstronaut has been dubbed “tank-top pop” due to their warm, tropical synth-pop sound – or as Interview Magazine put it, “a nimble sprint through tropical rhythms and beach-side dance party revelry.”

Bearstronaut recently performed the highly anticipated Boston Calling Music Festival alongside Solange, Kendrick Lamar, and Vampire Weekend.  They have also shared the stage with acts such as Passion Pit, fun., A-Trak, Bad Rabbits, St. Lucia, Body Language, the Shout Out Louds, Surfer Blood and Divine Fits.  Be sure to catch Bearstronaut at their SXSW performance in Austin!

DATE: Saturday March 8, 2014
TIME: 1-3PM
VENUE: Maggie Mae’s @ The Roof Top

I LOVE this group!! I love the hard driving bass and the electrifying techno they put on top was like the icing on the cake! I was immediately into their songs from the beginning and kept my attention the whole time. Their lyrics are awesome and I really like the retro feel to their music. The only thing I didn’t like was not getting to listen to this group sooner!
