Just saw this on Yahoo with the link to Popular Machanics of the unveiling of the U.S.S. Enterprise at the Smithsonian. This is the 11 foot model that the series used during filming the original series of Star Trek. It looks great! Maybe some day I might even get to D.C. to see it in person. “Cool” Upcoming Star Wars Lego Set
Check out this very cool Lego set that was mentioned on Yahoo’s site. Pun definitely intended since Lego set is for the Star Wars: Assault on Hoth playset, from Empire Strikes Back. This set has 2,144 pieces and will set you back $250 suggested retail price. Of course if you are a Lego fan price sometimes isn’t an obstacle. The set is has a schedule shelf date of May 1, so if price is something you have to consider, start saving now.
Giant Star Wars Snow Sculpture
This is just to cool! Look at the scale of this snow sculpture! This was done this year at the 66th Sapporo Snow Festival, in northern Japan. This sculpture is entitled “Snow Star Wars” and was done by:
The snow sculpture, Star Wars, is made by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force: the 11th Brigade; the 1st Snow Sculpture Producing Unit, the 11th Artillery Unit, the 11th Reconnaissance Company, and the 11th Antiaircraft Artillery Company.
They did a tremendous job! If I read the credits correctly the photos are by Kimimasa Mayama.

Strange World Photography
Just saw this on the Yahoo ticker and thought it was really cool. Matthew Albanese in his spare time makes these amazing dioramas out of a variety of everyday items and takes beautiful pictures of them when they are finished. The following video is from the weekly “flickr” moment. Watch it and you’ll be amazed and inspired as well.
