Check Out Highs “Summer Dress”

“Summer Dress” is The Highs release for their debut EP.  This band has a mix of different sounds that might not be appealing to everyone.  This song hits me just right, I enjoy the instrumentals and the lyrics are just extra dressing.  Listen below and see what you think and be sure to check out Wild Honey Pie for more Indie music news.

Two New Releases by Divine Fits

Divine Fits has released to new music videos for their new songs “Chained to Love” and “Ain’t That The Way”.  The sound of this band, for me is reminiscent of the ’60’s to early ’70’s bands.  The music is light and doesn’t over power the lead singer.  The music videos are kitschy as well with the “Chained to Love” being edited around old black & white movie scenes and then the “Ain’t That the Way” video  having that 1970 television feel.  Watch the videos below and see what you think and be sure to go to Wild Honey Pie’s site for more indie news http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/

“Byegone” track by Volcano Choir

Volcano Choir has released “Byegone” for their latest track.  I enjoyed the song, which is not an upbeat fast song, it is more laid back.  However, this is one where I wish they would have just done it as an instrumental.  The lyrics are great, but I love the instrumental portion of this song and wish they would have left it a pure instrumental song.  Thanks to Wild Honey Pie for the track below so you can listen to “Byegone” and be sure to check them out for more indie music news http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/

Noah and the Whale Single

Noah and the Whale is a group that hails from London.  There fourth album Heart of Nowhere is also one of their singles “Heart of Nowhere – Featuring Anna Calvi.  This is one I could take or leave.  It’s not bad, I have definitely heard worse.  The intro is drawn out a little to far and the singer during the verses, to me, sounds a little like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  Check them out it might be something you will enjoy.  For more indie music info. visit the Wild Honey Pie site at http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/

Warm Water from Banks

Banks has a sound of a seductive songstress.  The quality of music is kind of Bluesy and her voice to me is similar to Bonnie Raitt.  She only has three songs out that I could find at this time “Warm Water” (which is below as a video), “Fall Over”, and “Before I Ever Met You”.  Looks like she is well on her way to getting enough material available to make an album.  For more indie music be sure to check out Wild Honey Pie’s website: http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/

I Will, I Swear, Honest

I Will, I Swear is a group that comes to us from Belgium.  The track we have for you to listen to is the song “Sleep”.  I love the piano being the key instrument.  Then about one and a half minutes in bells come in as the back ground music, this is the part of the song I love.  Then at about two minutes in an instrumental interlude comes in with the rest of the band leading into a crescendo, then back to the piano.  The singers voice is very pleasant to listen to, she has a nice tone to her voice. Very nice, I really like this song.  Be sure to check out Wild Honey Pie’s site http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/ for more Indy music news.

Little Miss Sunshine

Calab Hawley is a Harlem based artist, who has released three albums.  “Little Miss Sunshine” is from his upcoming fourth album.  This song is inspired by his eight year old niece being bullied.  The song has a good message about being who you are and not somebody else.  It kind of feels like a late ’60’s to early ’70’s style of music.  So if you are into that time period you will like this song.  Give it a listen, I think you will enjoy it.  Be sure to check out Wild Honey Pie’s website http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/ for more Indy music news.

MisterWives New Single Streaming

The band MisterWives has a new single out entitled “Kings & Queens”.  This is one of those songs that is hard to describe.  On the first listen I wasn’t to hip on it, but after listening to it a few more times the beat gets stuck in your head.  It kind of reminds me of some of the songs from the 1980’s.  Check it, and if you are like me don’t give up on it.  I think you will enjoy it.  For more music news be sure to visit Wild Honey Pie’s website http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/.

There is Danger Here

There is Danger has the latest release called “Passport”.  This is one that will appeal to all the psychedelic fans out there.  Not my particular style of music, but that’s what makes the world fun is the differences.  I can listen to this song, just not over and over again.  Check it out below and see what you think.  It might be your cup of tea.  Remember to check out Wild Honey Pie for more music news: http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/
