We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.

1979 found me in front of a television after school watching a new cartoon. That cartoon was, unbeknownst to me, the anime Starblazers (Uchu-Senkan Yamato). I just thought this was a cool space cartoon, being fresh off watching Star Wars, in 1977 which feed into my love for Science Fiction. Starblazers 2199 is a re-adaptation of Yoshinobu Nishizaki’s original work, from Production I.G. and Voyager Entertainment, and will be available with English and Spanish subtitles. This is a classic anime that you will want to consider for your anime collection, it would fit nicely right beside the original series. For all you miniature gamers and Star Wars collectors Fantasy Flight Games is release the above expansion pack in the forth quarter. The set is the “X-Wing: Imperial Aces Expansion Pack” and will have a suggested price tag of $29.95. The expansion pack comes with what you see above, but the miniatures are two TIE-Interceptors. One will be from the 181st Fighter Wing and the other one will be a Emperor’s Royal Guard TIE-Interceptor.
Dark Horse Comics is coming out with The Star Wars mini series based on George Lucas’ original screenplay. If you buy individual issues or the trade format this is one your will want to consider for your collections. Star Wars Celebration Europe II gave Star Wars fans a glimpse of the upcoming Star Wars: Rebels animated series, with the two pictures above. The series is planned for a Fall 2014 release date. Thanks to ICv2 for the the pictures above.

Fantasy Flight Games has announce that it’s supplementary to the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire role playing game, will be delayed until the third quarter of this year. So all the gamers that were eagerly waiting and wondering what was up, there you go. Just be a little patient and Star Wars: Edge of the Empire, Beyond the Rim will be available at retail for you to pick up for your collection.
LucasFilm, with Disney Publishing Worldwide, has announced that the second Star Wars Reads Day will be on October 5. For any comic store, book seller, or library that wishes to register for a free event kit go to http://starwars.com/reads/. As of this particular time the registration was not up, but keep going back to see when registration comes available.
For all of you that wanted more Star Wars animation after the Clone Wars was cancelled……it’s on it’s way with Star Wars Rebels, Yes! Can you tell I’m a Star Wars fan. The four ships pictured above are being released for the Star Wars X-Wing Game. Each side is getting two ships, the Imperials are getting the Lambda-Class Shulttle and TIE Bomber, while the Rebels are getting the HWK-290 and B-Wing Fighter. So if you have started this game you will probably want to stay up on the expansion packs, so check you local gaming store to pick these up or get them on order.
