Is This a Halloween Treat or Trick?

This is a strange one.  If true it will have the Star Wars fan community in a buzz.  Yahoo has an article from the Associated Press, by Ryan Nakashima, that says George Lucas has sold his film companies to Disney to include the Indiana Jones and Star Wars franchises.  The sell is reported to be for $4.05 billion.  I’m not sure if this excites me or not.  With Disney’s track record with Science Fiction movies I don’t know.  Check out the article by following the link below.

Update: I guess this is a done deal.  I’m excited about this and hesitant as well.  My feelings lean more to the excited part of it with Episode 7 in theaters in 2015.

Star Wars Detours Trailer

I wanted to wait until this was premiered, but so far they haven’t released a date.  Most people have probably seen it, but that’s alright it’s a fun trailer.  So here we go, Star Wars Detours will be the next animation series out from LucasFilm.  Thanks to YouTuber “starwars” for the trailer:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

Since this weekend is Star Wars Reads Day I decided to go with a Star Wars AMV.  This AMV spotlights YouTuber “SaiTorrsVideos”.  The song “Let it Rock” performed by Kevin Rudolf (featuring Lil Wayne) was edited to a variety of Bounty Hunter scenes from The Clone Wars.  The songs a great upbeat song and fits the attitude of the bounty hunters perfectly.  Editing between scenes was very smooth and was fun to watch.  The only negative I have is that the end is chopped off, instead of letting the song fade out.  Great job “SaiTorresVideos”.  You can check out the AMV below or find it on YouTube under “Star Wars The Clone Wars – Bounty Hunter Tribute – Let it Rock”:

The Clone Wars Season 5

If you’re like me, your life is busy.  Because of that I missed the season opener of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5, on Cartoon Network.  I was able to catch up on www.starwars.com.  You can catch up to before the next episdoe hits this week.  Thanks to “starwars” and YouTube for the following trailer, looks to be an interesting season:

Star Wars Reads Day

I know that some libraries took advantage of this and several book stores have.  Everyone will have to check with their local library and/or book store to see if they are participating in the 1st Annual Star Wars Reads Day.  It is this coming Saturday so be sure to get out and have some fun.  And if you are interested and want your library to do this again next year you might see if you can help out in any way (volunteering, help with snacks, or display items…What ever you can think of).  If your library didn’t do it this year, have your staff consider it for next year.  This is one event that spans all generations it seems.  All of you out there have fun this Saturday and “May the Force be with You”.
