We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
For all of our table top gamers HeroClix is planning on bringing out The Superior Foes of Spider-Man set. The set will include classic and modern foes. There will be 70 figures to include: 16 common; 16 uncommon; 16 rare; 12 super rare; and 6 chase figures. WizKids has set July as a release time frame, so you have a little time to save up for the new pieces for you game or collection.
Meet Tom Holland or should be say Peter Parker. Sony and Marvel (Disney) has somehow worked out an agreement to allow Spider-Man to become part of the Marvel Films. In doing so Sony has recast Peter Parker/Spider-Man with Tom Holland. Holland will first appear in the upcoming Marvel film Captain America: Civil War and then have his own stand alone film. Hopefully this will work out and Marvel can talk to other companies to get other characters back into the Marvel film universe.
This is the only wide release movie happening this weekend. You can see this two ways. See it Friday before Free Comic Book Day and then on Saturday go to your local comic book store or do Free Comic Book Day on Saturday at your local comic book store and then that afternoon or evening go see Amazing Spider-Man 2. This is a cool thing that the window washers agreed to do for the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. The window washers dressed up as Captain America, Batman, Spider-Man, and Superman and greeted children at the windows on each floor as they went down the side of the hospital one floor at a time. The hospital helped by purchasing the costumes and letting the gentlemen take pictures with the children. Very cool gesture from everyone involved. On April first Disney XD will be debuting it’s Marvel Universe block. The core show will be Ultimate Spider-Man along with other shows and segments from Marvel Entertainment. For those that have the XD channel in their packets have fun watching. For those that don’t most libraries will probably pick up the shows when they become available for their animation section. I didn’t know about this movie when it was first announced. However, this trailer of Amazing Spider-Man, released on Song Pictures YouTube Channel, looks really good. Looks like another fun year at the movies for comic book fans.
Yes Amazing is part of the title of the Spider-Man comic book and the upcoming reboot set for a July 3rd, 2012 release date. However, this movie is amazing in another way. Without it even being released Sony has set the date for the Amazing Spider-Man sequel. Sony has set the sequel date for a May 2nd, 2014. Talk about planning ahead.
Marvel and Williams-Sonoma, a cooking supply company, are teaming up to help raise funds and promote “Share Our Strength”. “Share Our Strength” is a charitable organization whose aim is to end childhood hunger. Marvel has enlisted C.B. Cebulski (author) and Todd Nauck (artist) to create the story of Spider-Man and the Avengers fighting villains at a cooking demonstration that Jarvis, the Avengers butler, is giving to some children. The issue is currently available at Williams-Sonoma stores or you can read it at williams-sonoma.com.
