“Rainy Day” is the current release from Lady Low, through the website Buzzbands L.A. Lady Low has a nice sound that kind of melds with your senses to me. It’s not flashy, just nice and harmonious. They sing well together without one person trying to over power the other in the singles I’ve listened to. Have a listen to “Rainy Day” here through SoundCloud – Richard:
“Janet Jean” comes to us from Tru Fam. The music to this single has a great beat, the urban hip hop style with a middle eastern flare to it. Not sure if that is just for this individual single or if this style is in all of their music, but I enjoyed it…something a little bit different. Sorry about this next bit guys. I’m not a fan of auto-tune. An artists voice can stand on its own no matter who’s it is. You gentlemen have good voices let the spot light be on them. Mandi Perkins and Dillon Pace, make up the band of Verona, and they have currently released the single “Stay Gold”. Their music is Synth influenced, but with a heavy beat in this single. It feels like it will be a power ballad but it never hits that hard chorus that you expect after the buildup. Instead they pulled back and kept the lyrics softer. Ever have one of those groups you just like. That’s is happening with me with The Score. They have released their second single “Catching Fire” and I still love their style. To get primed for SXSW, Vuurwerk has released two remixes for fans to get stocked about. The first is done by DNKL, for their single “Warm Dark Night”, and the second remix is by Nick Nicely, for their single “Rrainbow”. “BLU” has a pop techno feel to it that will grab that fan following really fast for the group Verre. The lead singer has a nice clear voice that I enjoy and I like the beat that they have with the music. Only a few spots within the single that I didn’t really enjoy but that is just a matter of taste. Take a listen to Verre’s “BLU” through SoundCloud – Richard:
“Taken” is the title track from her upcoming debut EP, Taken. This single is one that when listening to the verses of the song the vocals and instrumentals clash a little and compete against each other. This is a specific style and I’ve heard other pieces that do this same thing. It took me a couple of times to really get into this song because of that clash and then I was used to it and had no trouble. Have a good chorus helped me give “Taken” multiple listenings and really tied this piece together nicely. Check it out through SoundCloud – Richard:
The Eiffels debut single, from their upcoming self titled EP, is “I Did It Now”. This group has a 1980’s synth rock feel to them in this single. It has a great base beat, that will have your head bobbing. “I Did It Now” isn’t a pop rock sound, it has a darker feel to it with the heavy drum beat. Check it out through SoundCloud – Richard:
