Skyes is sharing their latest single “Give Me More” with the ComicPop listeners. The single comes in with a simple style and grows throughout the song into a definite electronic feel. The piano and drum beat opening is really nice and with Dallin Knightly’s voice is really powerful. The trio should concentrate their sound around Dallin’s voice which can carry the group with it’s clear and strong quality and lightly use the electronics. I’m interested in hearing more from them and if you are as well Skyes EP Quarks comes out May 6 that this single is from. Until then enjoy “Give Me More” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Dannika Wants to be “Next to You”
Dannika is sharing with the ComicPop listeners “Next to You” from her upcoming EP For Peaches. This one will be a little bit of an acquired taste for some people. It really reminded me of something that would come out of the “Flower Power/Hippie culture. There is a uniqueness to this single that reminds me of that time period where friends would gather in a field to “relax”. I think most of you out there will know what I’m alluding to with that term. Here is Dannika’s “Next to You” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Kimberley Locke Covers “I Will Survive”
Kimberley Locke, one of the finalist of American Idol in Season 2, shares with our listeners her rendition of Gloria Gaynor’s single “I Will Survive”. Kimberley takes the disco hit and slows it down to make it into a ballad. Some listeners that can remember Gloria’s hit might not recognize this rendition. By slowing it down it really changes the feel of this song. Check out Kimberley Locke’s cover of “I Will Survive” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Henry Chadwick is “Alright”
Henry Chadwick is sharing his single “Alright” from his EP entitled Guest At Home, with the ComicPop listeners. This single has an alternate rock vibe to it that most will enjoy. The rhythm and lyrics give you that feel good sound, which is what Henry is wanting with this single. It’s one of those good Summer songs that you can listen to while you are in the car crusing. Check out Henry Cahdwick’s single “Alright” through SoundCloud – Richard:
JOME’s Premiere Single “Brushstroke”
JOME is sharing with the ComicPop listeners the premiere of “Brushstroke”. The drums that the piece utilizes give the single a little bit of a tribal feel, which I enjoy. When the chorus hits it brings up the songs tempo and gives a nice contrasting element between the verse and chorus. To me this is an anthem song for people that don’t want to be forgotten and to change that precept and not be forgotten is to change the color you paint your would with or even the “Brushstroke”. Thanks to JOME for sharing “Brushstroke” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Melina Diehl wants You!, “Seriously”
Melina Diehl is sharing her debut single, “Seriously’, with the ComicPop listeners. This single is at it’s best because of it’s simplistic form. Not every artist can sing a song in this manner, because the singer becomes the focal point not the instruments. There is limited instruments and/or mixing to the sound, so to me it comes across as more pure. Very nicely done and Melina should be highly complimented for this. This is a comforting single about a person wanting to share their love with their significant other and wanting to take that first step towards a lasting relationship. Enjoy Melina’s debut “Seriously” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Leondro gets “Low” but Definitely not Slow
Kill J gives us “Coda”
Kill J is making her mark at SXSW and here with ComicPop Library. She is sharing with our listeners her unique single “Coda” from her Quasi EP. To me I put “Coda” in the Electronic/Pop category with some Experimental tinges thrown in for good measure. Love the cover to her EP that is pictured above, it definitely fits with our style. “Coda” has a strong beat with Kill J’s strong voice to support the lyrics. It all fits together into a piece that has gotten me hooked. I look forward to listening to the rest of her EP. Enjoy “Coda” from Kill J’s EP Quasi through SoundCloud – Richard:
