Nilu is sharing with the ComicPop listeners her single “A Thousand Tangled Lies”. Nilu has also been featured on Grey’s Anatomy with her cover to “How to Save a Life” and on Pretty Little Liars. “A Thousand Tangled Lies”, co-produced by Randy Jackson (American Idol) has been described as being enchanting and I can see why. This single I could see firmly entrenched in a fantasy film or television series. It just has that flow that you hear from music in that genre. I love that the piano and, if I’m not wrong, cello are incorporated into the single and these two instruments just re-enforce that fantasyesque feel. Nilu herself has a deep soulful sound that fits the single really well. See what you think of Nilu’s “A Thousand Tangled Lies” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Swaai Boys’ Single “Dana of Dendur”
The Swaai Boys are sharing with us their single “Dana of Dendur” from their upcoming EP. This group has that California beach feel that you got from the music of Jan & Dean and Beach Boys. All that beach/island music that has a way of making a person relax. So grab a drink, have a set in your beach chair, lean back and let Swaai Boys’ “Dana of Dendur” wash over you through SoundCloud – Richard:
Oblio Introduces Us to “Lilly”
Oblio is sharing with our listeners again their latest single, “Lilly”. “Lilly” hits one of my many sweet spots. It is a really nice paced folk/americana single, that is from their Autophobia album. Just after a couple of listens I was able to pick up the lyrics and have a fun time singing along with them. To me if a song can get you to sing along with it then the artist have definitely hit upon something. Take a moment and sing along with Oblio with their single “Lilly” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Marga Lane is “Thinking About You”
Marga Lane is sharing with the ComicPop listeners her single “Thinking About You”. We get another strong soulful voice with Marga. “Thinking About You” has the trappings of Soul Music, but has an upbeat fun rhythm to it. It conveys the way a couple feels when they are falling for each other. Marga has recently been featured on Lance Bass’ SiriusXM Radio’s program Dirty Pop and will more than likely be featured on more programs. We want to thank her for sharing with ComicPop and our listeners. Marga has an EP planned for a December 2 release, entitled Undressed, so keep an eye out for it on your favorite digital music vendors. Until then enjoy Margo Lane’s fun loving “Thinking About You” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Madison McWilliams Advises to “Smell the Roses”
Madison McWilliams is sharing with us her single “Smell the Roses”. Madison hits the teen pop scene really well with this upbeat fun single. Even though with her young age and her voice still developing, Madison already has that raw talent that I am interested in hearing more from her and hope she doesn’t stray to far from the path like other singers. “Smell the Roses” is a great start for her and I hope she continues evolving her voice career as well as her acting. Enjoy some fun as Madison McWiliams reminds us to stop and “Smell the Roses” through SoundCloud – Richard:
piKzil Wants You go Get a “Brand New Soul”
piKzil is hitting the scene with, what I would call an electronic/lounge feel with their single “Brand New Soul”. The duo, Liza Oxnard and Kip Kuepper, are blending a couple of different musical genres to get their style. It will appeal to those who want to just have a nice relaxing drink while letting the music wash over them. piKzil has an album planned for release this month, until then here is piKzil’s “Brand New Soul” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Troy’s latest Rock Single “Cover Me”
We featured Troy’s “Song Man” back in May. Now Troy is sharing with us his latest single “Cover Me”. Once again Troy smashes it with this great rock influenced single. “Cover Me” doesn’t hit you in the face like you would expect if I told you this was a rock single. This single has some soul mixed in with a nicely blended story based rock single that gets introspective. Enjoy Troy’s “Cover Me” through SoundCloud – Richard:
DEDBTZ & Brevi Wants Us to See “Planes in the Sky”
DEDBTZ is sharing with us again their latest single, featuring artist Brevi, “Planes in the Sky”. When listening to the lyrics you hear the struggles that many have to work through as Brevi alludes. The beginning of the single is very serious and then a third of the way into the single the beat picks up and lightens the mood even though it is still lyrically serious. This is a very nice mix of rhythms otherwise this would be a very sad song, that with the up tempo beat will be heard more and speak to the individuals that it is speaking to. Another strong entry for their upcoming EP. Can’t wait to hear the EP when it is finalized. Until then here is DEDBTZ, featuring Brevi, in the single “Planes in the Sky” through SoundCloud – Richard:
The Jake Davis Band is “Saying It Right”!
The Jake Davis Band is sharing their debut single, “Saying It Right”, from their EP The Valley. “Saying It Right” is a fine entry in the pop/electro pop field. It has a clean strong beat that pulls the listener in and Jake’s voice is clear and comes through nicely. Other members of the band are Jordan Meltzer, on guitar, James Harmon, on Bass, and Eddy Barco, on drums. If this is any indication of what the EP will be like it will be a welcome addition to your music collection. Now after saying all of that I would really love to hear Jake do an acoustical version of this song, I think it would add another dimension to the single. Enjoy Jake Davis Band’s “Saying It Right” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Heartracer Sings about Their “Dream Girl”
Heartracer is sharing with the ComicPop listeners their electro/pop single “Dream Girl”. This single has a kinetic energy that will make your body want to move with the rhythm. The single would fit well in a dance club. Heartracer is made up of brothers Chip and Chris Cosby and you can tell they were influenced from the 1980’s style of music. Very fun to listen to and a solid electro/pop single. Enjoy Heartracer’s “Dream Girl”, through SoundCloud, and I can’t wait to see what they come out with next – Richard:
