Emma Ballantine Single “Through Your Eyes”

Emma Ballantine is sharing with us a project she began with her singing/songwriting abilities.  This project is entitled Somebody’s Story, which is also her latest EP title.  The project is taking life stories that individuals have told her and she is putting them to song.  The single she is sharing with us today is “Through Your Eyes”, which is a story about a 14 year old that has autism.  If you have been listening to our podcasts for a while you will now this, but for newer listeners, the world of autism hits my family close to home with my Son being on the autism spectrum with aspergers.  The single is an emotional ballad for anyone (parent, sibling, or other loved one) that has experienced autism in their family.  The EP Somebody’s Story is available and you can get it from your digital vendor of choice.  One such vendor is iTunes where it has reached the #4 slot for the singer/songwriter charts.  Take a moment to listen to Emma Ballantine’s “Through Your Eyes” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Island Apollo New Single “Hold It Down”

Island Apollo is giving our listeners a rockin’ anthem to check out, “Hold It Down”.  This single has that hard driving beat that gets you into the song from the beginning.  The vocals are on point with “Hold It Down” and I love that toward the end of the second third of the single there is a short bridge that sounds like it came out of a ’70’s TV detective/cop series.  With Island Apollo hitting it out of the park with this single I’m definitely interested in what else they will come out with.  Having VH1, CBS, and Fox Sports spotlighting you is an added bonus.  We don’t want to ‘hold’ Island Apollo ‘down’, but you will want to listen to their single “Hold It Down” here through SoundCloud – Richard:

Justin Lacy’s New Single “Sealed”

Justin Lacy is sharing with our listeners his new single “Sealed” off his second album entitled Control Burn.  Justin has the folk feel down and I love the bass beat he has going through the single which is interspersed with a light sound that he pulls off with an acoustic guitar.  Justin has one of those voices that reminds me of how Bob Dylan sang.  Here’s Justin Lacy’s “Sealed” through SoundCloud for you to check out and then you can go to your digital vendor of choice to give him some love by purchasing his Control Burn album that is available now – Richard:

J. Ven’s Single “Barely Alive”

J. Ven is giving the ComicPop listeners a chance to check out his single “Barely Alive”.  This single has a great pop/R&B feel to it that just draws the listener in from the beginning of the song.  J. Ven does have a softer voice so he will have to be wary of the instrumentals occasionally overtaken his voice.  In “Barely Alive” he walks that fine line of blending his voice with the instrumentals during the chorus where the music swells, but he works it well.  Loved his voice, loved his sound and can’t wait to hear what else he will be releasing.  Here’s J. Ven’s “Barely Alive” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Emma Charleston’s “Wonderland”

Emma Charleston is back and sharing with us her latest single “Wonderland”.  Emma gives us a folksy ballad that fits her strong clear voice.  With her second folk single out this seems to be the genre of choice for her, but as with any artist they will have fun with other genres as well.  As with Emma’s first single “Falling”, “Wonderland” will be enjoyed by our listeners of folk music and some that want to enjoy a solid ballad that transports you into your mind’s memory of a loved shared.  Here’s Emma Charleston’s “Wonderland” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Sleeplust’s Latest Single “Over”

Sleeplust is back sharing their music with our listeners.  This time they want everyone to check out their latest single “Over”.  If you remember Sleeplust is a synth/pop group that we enjoyed this past February.  With “Over” the group takes their style and focus it into a synth/pop ballad that everyone will be able to relate to.  The group is currently finalizing their next EP that “Over” is a part of and it will be dropping later this Spring.  Until then here’s “Over” for everyone to enjoy through SoundCloud – Richard:

Nick Blaemire’s Single “Coffee & Wine”

Nick Blaemire is sharing with our listeners his sinlge “Coffee & Wine” that features Daniel J. Watts.  The single starts out slow and then Nick kicks it into gear and speeds up the rhythm which fits much better than the slower beat.  Love the chorus that brings in the brass section, very nice.  Daniel J. Watts helps through out the single and then comes in with a rap section, this will throw some listeners off with this slowing the single down again, but when you listen to his lyrics you understand why they do it because he is talking about be medicated and we need some caffeine to get back into the flow.  “Coffee & Wine” is part of Nick’s The Ampersand EP that is available from you choice of digital vendors.  Check out Nick Blaemire’s “Coffee & Wine”, featuring Daniel J. Watts, through SoundCloud – Richard:

Shane Henry’s New Single “Save Me”

Shane Henry’s music might be familiar to some.  His music has been heard on many television networks including: NBC; CBS; Discovery Channel; Hallmark Channel; and E!  Today Shane is sharing with our listeners his latest single “Save Me”.  From the very beginning of “Save Me” you have that R&B/Rock sound.  But then the more you listen and catch Shane’s voice which draws out the lyrics my brain click and it went to Southern Rock.  With that electric guitar front and center, the driving bass beat and then the harmonica comes in on the bridges.  It’s a really nice sound that takes from each style, but doesn’t over power each other.  Here is Shane Henry’s “Save Me”, through SoundCloud, for you to enjoy to prepare for his upcoming album Light in the Dark releasing on April 28 – Richard:

Mick McMains Single “Singing to the Cow”

Mick McMains is sharing with our listeners his single “Singing to the Cow”.  This single hits right in that Folk/Country arena really well and how can it not be with the title “Singing to the Cow”.  The sounds are there, with Mick’s voice being strong and easy to listen to.  And just for extra measure they throw in some electric guitar.  So check out Mick McMains’ single through SoundCloud – Richard:
