I know I had a post about this a while back, but AMC has given the release date for the new Preacher series based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. It will premiere May 22 right after Fear the Walking Dead. So mark your calendars for a different kind of ride. Here is the trailer that AMC is sharing on their YouTube channel with everyone for a reminder of what the show will be like. I for one can’t wait!:
AMC has released the first trailer for it’s new series Preacher, an adaptation from the Garth Ennis title. Being a cable channel I’m sure AMC will stretch the boundaries like the do with the Walking Dead, but will have to stay confined to a degree. If they did a true adaptation this would have to be on HBO or some other paychannel. However, as good as AMC has done with the Walking Dead, Preacher might be another hit for them. ICv2’s site is reporting that D.J. Caruso has been signed to direct a Preacher movie. The director is fine, my concern is Hollywood trying to make this into a movie. Unless this becomes a franchise I would think this would be better served as a HBO series or the like. AMC’s Walking Dead comes to mind as how this can be produced. Link below to the brief article.
