This is a promising start for Jeanine. “Runnin'” reminded me of something Diana Ross might sing, just in a higher register. I have to say I love the Wolverine pic above. Anyway back to the single. Jeanine even with a higher voice, she is very clear with her lyrics, which is difficult for a higher register singer. I also loved the up beat of “Runnin” . The beat does get a little repetitive, but I believe that was what Jeanine was going for. By the time the single is finished the listener is wore out, just like you would be if you were running. Definitely interested in her future releases. Take a listen through SoundCloud – Richard:

The Great Work’s Latest “Yellow Diamond”
Here is the latest single from The Great Work, “Yellow Diamond”. This has a nice rock feel that everyone will like. For me the instruments over powered the vocalist and to me would be more a more enjoyable single if they group could balance out their sound. Give it a listen through SoundCloud – Richard:
Year of October’s latest “Gone”
Year of October has a blending of Blues and Rock and that is evident in their latest single “Gone”. The verse with Phlecia carries the bluesy feel, but then the song takes a step back for Josh to do a rock guitar riff. This is an interesting mix and it worked for me. Check out “Gone” through SoundCloud below – Richard:
Going to a “Farpoint” with Harris Hawk
Harris Hawk gives everyone a nice hard rock single with “Farpoint”. This is one that hard rock fans will enjoy. There is a short bridge where the song softens a little, but it is primarily in your face with electric guitar the featured piece in the driving beat. Rock out with Harris Hawk through SoundCloud below – Richard:
Getting Techie with What Model Citizens’ “Too Late”
“Too Late”, from What Model Citizens, has a strong 1980’s synth feel. Kind of in the vain of Devo and other groups like that. The Music Video definitely leans toward the Steampunk genre and the song lends itself well to that genre as well. So if you are into Steampunk or the synth music check out the music video below from Vimeo – Richard:

The Cabana Kids gives us “Sortida”
The Cabana Kids latest single “Sortida’ gives you that late 1960’s to 1970’s feel to me. The vocals and instruments give a nice counter balance to each other and the “aahs” gives it an other worldly or what some might say the “feel good feeling” feel to the single. This would also appeal to what I would call the hipster scene very easily. Check it out through SoundCloud – Richard:
Last of the Promised Holiday Music
I know the holiday season is technically over, but I just returned from my holiday trips. I promised Melissa, of City Bird Publicity I would get these last two songs up even if I had to do it after the holidays. The first is Ewa Angeli with “In Night’s Still Silence and then Jes wraps up the holiday tunes with “Merry Little Christmas”. Thank you to Melissa and City Bird Publicity for a great 2014 and can’t wait to see what music is in store for us for 2015.
