Get ready for a second round with Derrick Storm. Marvel Entertainment and ABC Studios is releasing the second graphic novel based on the fictional Richard Castle’s Derrick Storm books. This graphic novel is entitled Richard Castle’s Storm Season and is scheduled for release October 17. This is one libraries that have Castle fans will want to pickup as they did the first graphic novel. If this is your first knowledge of this series, pick up both graphic novels for your library.
On April first Disney XD will be debuting it’s Marvel Universe block. The core show will be Ultimate Spider-Man along with other shows and segments from Marvel Entertainment. For those that have the XD channel in their packets have fun watching. For those that don’t most libraries will probably pick up the shows when they become available for their animation section. I didn’t know about this movie when it was first announced. However, this trailer of Amazing Spider-Man, released on Song Pictures YouTube Channel, looks really good. Looks like another fun year at the movies for comic book fans.
If your library has a roleplaying club, is getting a club started or just provides material for groups this is one you might want to check out for your library. Margaret Weis Productions is coming out with Marvel Heroic Roleplaying Basic Game, February 28. The game’s theme will be the “Breakout” storyline that is in New Avengers and will have a suggested retail price of $19.99. Future themes will include: “Civil War” in March; “Annihilation” in June; and “Age of Apocalypse” in September with a suggested retail price of $19.99 for each new addition. Each roleplaying theme will be presented in a paperback reference book for your gamers to use in setting up scenarios.
WizKids is coming out with “Fast Forces Packs” for their DC and Marvel lines of HeroClix. Each pack will contain six figures. The DC packs, called DC HeroClix: War of Light Fast Forces Packs, will have characters from their Green Lantern titles. The Marvel packs, called Marvel HeroClix: Uncanny X-Men Fast Forces Packs, will have characters from their X-Men titles. Be sure to let your gamers know so they can start getting ready for another round of HeroClix.
