We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.

This type of music I have to be in the mood for, but you might enjoy it, especially if you follow the scene. Jumpcuts is sharing with ComicPop Library their latest music video for “Everything We Are”, off their album Fiber Optic Bondage. The single itself is a slow techno sound with lyrics that they want you to listen to for the meaning. This isn’t one that will make you get up and dance, but one to contemplate. The music video helps with it’s imagery. It shows the founder of the band and pieces of his Kenner Vintage Star Wars toy collection. Basically, what I got out of it is for the listen to remember “Everything We Are” is by what we surround ourselves with. You can have your collections, but don’t forget about the family, friends, and people in your life that make up who you are. Its not only about the collection. You might get something else, who knows. If nothing else enjoy the vintage toys. “I Wake Up” is a very soulful single that The Glorious has released. The tone and vocals have a haunting feel to them. This is one that will make you pause to listen and absorb. Saint Archer has been doing some promotional short films, call Work Hard & Drink Beer, to spotlight different people promoting their beverage. This particular short film features Andrew Jones, the drummer of HY Brasil. Pretty cool profile on Andrew. In Sweet Bronco’s single “Crush, Crush” we get a call back to the 1960’s psychedelic age. Fans of this music will enjoy their sound and fans that lived in that time will probably recall some memories. When Sweet Bronco started the vocals, and this is especially with the chorus, I instantly had a call back to something that The Doors would do. The group is sharing with us their music video for “Crush, Crush” from the Unit 1 Sessions’ YouTube channel – Richard:
Hy Brasil is sharing with us their single and music video “Tightrope”. The single has a very smooth pace that transitions into a great driving beat for the chorus and back to the smoothness for the verse. The Patternist comes to us by way of Portland and gives everyone a taste of his ElectoPop music with his lyric video for “Gone”. The beat to the single is catchy and keeps the listener interested in the single, however the vocals, to me, blend in to much with the instruments and at times is even over powered by the instruments. Gabe has a singing voice I want to hear more of. So for me tone down the instruments and give us those vocals for everyone to hear and appreciate. In “Walk Away” Hy Brasil gives the listeners a Techno Sound. This makes the single have an other worldly feel. This might be intentional on the bands part, but their voices do tend to get lost in the instruments. This is a style that several enjoy, but I like to have the voices to be as much of the song as the instruments. When you add the music video to this single it adds to the single. The video was shot in black and white film and has a young woman that has a unicorn mask on her face. These visuals compliment “Walk Away” in achieving that other worldly feel. The group American Pinup has given New Noise Magazine an exclusive release of their latest single “The Radio”. This single has that rock feel with some soul mixed in. It isn’t a head banger for sure, but it has a nice feel that one would listen to when they just want to listen to music. Listeners will enjoy the vocal treatment and steady beat throughout the single.
