Pilgrim Speakeasy is sharing their single “Unbelievable” with our listeners. Pilgrim Speakeasy consider themselves avant pop which with this single you can definitely hear in this single. What the group says in their single is what most of us say to ourselves a lot while shaking our heads. It’s a catchy tune but be forewarned that it does have language in the single, but it isn’t used in a harsh way, but it is throughout the whole single. I believe most will get the message and have fun with Pilgrim Speakeasy’s “Unbelievable” through SoundCloud:
Rosie Carney delivers our listeners another soulful song with “Better Man”. Rosie takes a contemplative tone to this single by slowing it down and being purposeful in her diction with her lyrics. The video is well crafted and takes the viewer on a journey that makes you stop and slow down for a while. Shred Kelly delivers another solid entry into the Folk genre, with “Going Sideways”. Since being introduced to Shred Kelly I have enjoyed their music tremendously. They have a bit of Mumford & Sons vibe to them that I think most people will enjoy. The music video they have made for “Going Sideways” is very well made and very cinematic in style as it follows a downed pilot in the woods. The scenery is beautiful and some of the shoots that are in the video are really unique and makes you wonder the fate of the pilot. The music video is silent for the first few seconds, before the music comes in so don’t think you have to turn your sound up…nothing is wrong. Rosie Carney is sharing with us her music video for the single “Winter”. We’ve featured Rosie and we want to thank her for contacting ComicPop Library again. “Winter” is what I would call a Folk Ballad. It has a slower pace to it that leads you down a wooded path as the music video portrays. With this video the first 14 seconds are silent so don’t hit the pause button the song begins 15 seconds in. Elida Almeida is sharing with the ComicPop listeners her music video to her single “Lebam Ku Bo”. This single has an island feel to me that comes through with a flowing rhythm. Elida’s voice is a very clear alto that soothes the listener as she sings. The video takes you on a colorful trip through the countryside. Elida will be coming to SXSW this year all the way from Cape Verde, so if you happen to be in Austin during SXSW stop by her session. Rosie Carney is coming to us from Ireland and will be performing at the 2016 SXSW, so if you happen to be there be sure to check out her music. Glide Magazine has Rosie’s premiere that she wants everyone to check out. This definitely has a folk feel to it and her voice reminds me of the female leads voice of The Hunts, that we reviewed back in the day. The single is a slower piece, but Rosie’s voice captivates you from the start. Next Stop Horizon is a Sweish indie folk/pop duo. The are sharing with the ComicPop listeners, not one but two of their music videos. The first one fits our site to a “T” with “Rain on Me”. The single is very upbeat and catchy, but it’s the music video that hits my sweet spot. It has spots throughout it of a couple of children dressed up in superhero outfits with capes and all. You gotta love that! With their second music video for their single “We’ll Whistle So” slows it down. With this single they want to draw the listener in through the lyrics and music, plus the variety of instruments in this single is great. If you live in or plan to attend SXSW the duo is a confirmed performance so check when and where they will be playing and enjoy their music. Also I have to say I love their picture that we use above.
