Star Trek: Attack Wing Grows
WizKids has plans in place for new waves of Star Trek: Attack Wing in 2016. Wave 23 will be available in February and Wave 24 in March. Pictured above is the U.S.S. Montgolfier, which is part of wave 23 along with I.K.S. Amar and I.R.W. Jazkal. Then wave 24 will have Assimilated Vessel 77139, I.K.S. Klothos, and I.R.W. Devoras. Each wave will have three ships and will be at a $14.99 price point for each ship. So enjoy the new pieces whether you just collect the miniatures for display or play. New DBZ Cards Coming
Panini America will be releasing the next wave to their Dragon Ball Z trading card game, Dragon Ball Z: Evolution. Come October 30 Dragon Ball fans will be able to pick up new starter decks and booster packs for their collections, which will be centered around the Androids. The starter decks will contain 60 cards, which will include 4 parallel cards and 6 prizm cards. The booster packs will have 12 cards per pack to make a 140 card set. Each box of packages of booster packs will have a chance of purchasers getting 24 rares, 8 foil parallels, and 1 ultra rare card, again that is in each box of booster packs. So all you TCGer’s get ready for more cards to add to your collections.
Star Wars Micro Comics and Cards
This is interesting. IDW Publishing is trying something new in the collectible market with the Star Wars license. They are producing blind packs for Star Wars Marvel minicomics, 3-D posters, 3-D glass, and trading cards that are puzzle pieces to form comic covers. All this for $3.99. Sounds good until you look at the break down of what’s in the packet. You have a chance to get one of the six mini comics, a chance to get one of the six 3-D posters, a pair of 3-D glass. Doesn’t sound to bad yet, but then you get to the trading cards. You get a chance of getting 1 of 36 cards. That’s going to be a lot of duplicates to get a full set of the 36 trading cards.
Don’t get me wrong everything looks neat and all and there will be collectors that love this, but for my wallet it’s just beyond my means.
Gaming Diorama at GenCon
I just had to share this diorama from the 2015 GenCon, that ICv2 has on their site. This diorama was built I believe by the company Pulposaurus Entertainment and not a gamer to help gather interest in their KickStarter for the game Conan: Rise of Monsters game they want to produce and launch. This is just to cool looking! If they would sell the diorama with the game I think several gamers would be interested. Steve Trevor Cast
With talks of Wonder Woman getting a movie again, hopefully it will happen, Chris Pine has been cast as Steve Trevor, according to The Wrap. The picture above gives a comparison of Pine with one comic book version of Trevor. For me that casting works. Pine will play opposite Gail Godot’s Wonder Woman and the director assigned to the film is Patty Jenkins.
Wynonna Earp optioned by SyFy Channel
IDW and Seven24 Films announced that the rights to Beau Smith’s Wynonna Earp have been optioned by the SyFy channel. Wynonna Earp is a U.S. Marshall, whom is a decedent of Wyatt Earp. It is basically a modern day western/horror story where Earp tracks down and deals with supernatural creatures. It will star Melanie Scrofano, pictured above, and the showrunner/producer will be Emily Andras.
