Don’t forget that this is Smallville’s last season. The final episode is only a couple of weeks away. The CW will be airing it on May 13 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Movie Pics of Green Lantern
ICv2’s site, linked below, has given us some pictures of Ryan Reynolds in his computer generated Green Lantern costume. Not the worst CGI I’ve seen. Quite a bit of this movie will probably be CGI because of the aliens and space & alien planet environments. Librarians can us this movie as a talking point for their DC Comic book fans and animation fans. Hopefully, this movie will be good. Trailers for Green Lantern have made me fairly pleased with what I have seen.
The Next General Zod
According to Yahoo Movies, Michael Shannon will be playing General Zod in the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel feature film. With General Zod being the villain, this movie could shape up to be pretty decent. Linked below is the Yahoo article.

Green Lantern Marketing Delayed
According to DC’s site marketing for the Green Lantern movie has been delayed due to visual and special effects needing to get done for it’s release. The site says that Warner Bros. is wanting Green Lantern to become a franchise property for them so the pressure is on for this movie to perform. Link below to the full article.
Justice League Movie
DC’s site, linked below, is reporting that Warner Bros. President Jeff Robinov stated that a new script is in the works for a Justice League movie, hoping to get it to the onscreen in 2013. He also stated that after Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. is planning to “reinvent” the Batman franchise.
Booster Gold and Blue Beetle
Librarians that have fans of Smallville will want to pay attention. For many fans this is bitter sweet because this is supposed to be Smallville’s last season, but the writers are still bringing in DC characters. This is great because otherwise fans of the comics might never get to see them. In an episode scripted by Geoff Johns, he is bringing in the characters Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. Many librarians will be scratching their heads about who these two characters are, but believe me DC Comic book fans will know them and will be great talking points for you when you are visiting with your patrons. The image above is what they are supposed to look like in the episode. Follow the link for more information.

DC Nation
An interesting team up that librarians might tell their readers of DC Comics and animation fans about. On DC’s site it is reported that Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network will team up to bring about DC Nation. When this will actually become part of Cartoon Network’s programing in 2012. However, this will be interesting to see if DC can sustain a block of Cartoon Networks program scheduling. Some titles mentioned was the current Young Justice series and a new Green Lantern series. Jump over to DC’s site for the articles.
Introducing Wonder Woman
Warner Bros. has released the photo above of Adrianne Palicki in the costume they will have her wearing in the new Wonder Woman series. The article, linked below, from ICv2’s site states that the pilot/series for Wonder Woman is currently being shot. If the series should take off it could draw new interest in your library’s Wonder Woman titles.
The Man of Steel
ICv2’s site is reporting that the new Superman movie will possibly be subtitled Man of Steel. Zack Synder is supposedly taking a que from Christopher Nolan, and Nolan’s reboot of the Batman franchise. This Superman movie will be a reboot that will go with the concept that there were no previous Superman movies. It will be a fresh start for this franchise just as Batman Begins was a fresh start for the Batman franchise. Follow the link below for the full article.
