Batman Turns 75!
Batman’s 75th Anniversary is this year. On July 23rd, 2014 (Batman Day) will be the day he is officially recognized as 75. However, you could decorate for the month in a Batman theme within your library. Just another chance to connect with your patrons with a program. Give it some thought it could be fun. Flash Arriving in Arrow
Here is the look of the upcoming Flash in Arrow. It has been a while since we’ve seen Flash in a full body suit. Smallville didn’t have him in a costume and if I remember right they actually said that was Impluse. However, for those old enough or have seen the series from back in the 1990’s, I believe, will remember the Flash series and in it he had a full body costume. Justice League: War Trailer
Justice League: War is the next direct to video Warner Bros. Animation feature. This is one you will want to pick up for you animation collection. For all you video gamers today is the release date for Batman: Arkham Origins. This is one that many will want to add to their video game collection. 75th Anniversary Tribute by Zack Snyder
Here is another one to make you feel old. Superman’s 75 Anniversary. In the short below Zack Snyder created an animated history of Superman and presented it at the New York Comic Con. The short is schedule to air on the Cartoon Network on October 16 and will be an extra on the Man of Steel DVD/Blu-ray release, set for November. So thanks to DC Comics YouTube Channel for having this available to share.
WizKids will Release DC HeroClix in January
More collectibles for all you HeroClix collectors and gamers. WizKids will release on January 29, 2014 the new DC HeroClix: Superman and the Legion of Superheroes figures. The sub-themes will be: “Legion Espionage Squad”; “Legion Lost”; “Legion of Doom”; and “New Gods”. If you are a HeroClix fan I’m sure you will be putting your money back to the new sets.
Fox Looking at Gotham
ICv2 is reporting that the FOX network has placed and order for a Gotham series after a bidding war between networks. The show will feature a young Commissioner Gordon and will not feature Batman. It is to be along the lines of the old DC Comics series Gotham Central, which some of you might have in your collections.
