Ep 33 ComicPop…corn Movies Midnight Showing of “Big Trouble in Little China”

“This is Jack Burton in the ‘Pork Chop Express’ and I’m talking to whoever’s listening out there.  It’s a pretty amazing planet we live on here.  And a man’d have to be some kind of fool to think we’re all alone in this universe.”  And with that the ComicPop Crew get taken on a fantastical fun filled adventure in John Carpenter’s Cult Classic Big Trouble In Little China.

Cover Reveal for Lauren Lynne’s “The Recalcitrant Project”

Lauren Lynne, through Wyvern’s Peak Publishing, has revealed her cover for her upcoming novel The Recalcitrant Project.  Very cool cover it works for me.  As you can see the book will be dropping later this month, but we have an extra bonus for our listeners.  Lauren was kind enough to do a pre-pub visit with us about The Recalcitrant Project and it will be up the week before the actual release of the novel.  So keep an eye on your feeds, that podcast will be released on May 19.  Thanks to Lauren Lynne and Wyvern’s Peak Publishing for allowing us to be a part of the release and remember to order your copy as soon as it available – Richard

Lovely.The.Band’s Lyric Video for “Broken”

With “Broken” Lovely.The.Band is letting everyone know they are here.  They are sharing with us their Lyric Video for “Broken” which feels like a music video and if you take out the lyrics from the screen it is a music video, because most lyric videos key on the lyrics, but with this one it gives you movement behind it.  The single “Broken” is a nice clean pop single that, if I remember right, is similar to One Republic’s style on “All the Right Moves”.  Very catchy rhythm and clear vocals make this one fun to listen to.  So know it’s your turn to take a listen to Lovely.The.Band’s lyric video for “Broken” – Richard:

My Little Pony Trailer

Got any “Pony” fans out there?  If so you most be excited for the My Little Pony The Movie coming in October.  IDW has had the property for the comic book series, but they will be releasing a prequel comic book mini series for the movie and there will be The Art of My Little Pony The Movie from Viz Media and Hasbro.  Thanks to ICv2 for the update and MovieClips Trailers YouTube channel for the teaser trailer for My Little Pony The Movie:

Salt Petal’s Single “Disco Rats”

Salt Petal is give our listeners another taste of their style.  Wit “Disco Rats” it definitely delivers what the title says.  Salt Petal infuses this single with everything disco.  You get the brass, the rhythm, and the vocals all give you that disco feel, so get on the dance floor. Here’s Salt Petal’s “Disco Rats”, through SoundCloud, from their Rare Hearts album that is available for your digital vendor of choice – Richard:

The Dark Tower Trailer

The Dark Tower adaptation from Stephen King’s novel has it’s first trailer released.  I myself have only read part of the first book, so maybe I’m wrong, but this doesn’t remind me of the book.  What do you think?  Anyway here’s the trailer through MovieClips Trailers:

AMV-Groovy Love

Another fun AMV for all of our AMV lovers.  This one is from AMV-Groovy Love – Bestamvsofalltime Anime MV.  The video was edited back in 2012 by SagexAMV with the song “Drive By” performed by Train and the anime Mayo Chiki, which is basically a harem anime.  It’s a fun AMV, but it does have some risque moments throughout, so you have been warned.  Have some fun with AMV-Groovy Love:

Vs New Single “Listen”

Vs is coming at us with their single “Listen”.  This is one that will hit all the alternative rock fans.  If starts out with a peaceful feel for the first verse and then comes in heavy on the chorus, back to peaceful for the second verse and then heavy again for the reminder of the single.  Vs has an EP planned for a Summer release so if you are looking for a new band in the alt. rock arena this will fill the void.  Here’s Vs’ “Listen” through SoundCloud – Richard:

47 Meters Down Trailer

Okay first off why would anyone do this?  And then how many close calls can you have?  And finally…Ah H311 no! (figure it out, pretty sure it won’t take you long).  Anyway here’s the trailer for 47 Meters Down through MovieClips Trailers YouTube channel:

Trishes Latest Single “Animal”

Trishes is sharing with our listeners again.  This time she is coming to us with an upbeat single that will catch you from the beginning of the single, “Animal”.  “Animal” has a bit of modern feel, with the bass beat, as well as an older feel to it, especially with the “bum, bums” at the beginning and throughout the song.  Very nice job with the upbeat feel…everyone knows I enjoy those type of songs and her vocals are on point again.  So enjoy Trishes “Animal” through SoundCloud – Richard:
