Hmmm Over Reaction or Not?

Comic Book Legal Defense Fund reports that on December 18 a sixteen year old New Jersey boy was arrested for some drawings he had in his notebook.  The school authorities thought they were drawings for weapons, but his mother says it was over a drawing of a flaming glove.  The police also went to his house and found electronic parts and unspecified chemicals and labeled them as “explosive device”.  To this his mother says her son just enjoys taking old equipment apart seeing how it works and putting it back together.  The article also states that the school superintendent and police chief did not expect any violent behavior from the boy.  Yet he was still arrested and placed into juvenile hall.  With the recent school shooting tragedy one can see why school officials are sensitive at this time and we don’t know everything about the case.  The point of discussion with this case is should the school officials and police investigate fully, before they arrested a minor based on notebook drawings.  Hopefully they did.  You can follow the link below to the full article:

A New Year is Upon Us

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and had a happy New Year.  Now it is time to get back into the swing of things.  I am currently working on the next episode that hopefully will be up later today or more than likely tomorrow morning.  The staff here want to wish everyone’s 2013 be fruitful and fun.  And tell your friends about us.

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on “snowdragon25”.  Since we are getting ready for the biggest party of the year, I thought this AMV was appropriate.  “snowdragon25” took the song “Party All Night (Sleep All Day)” performed by Sean Kingston and edited in several clips from different anime that featured the main characters dancing or singing.  The scenes have some transitions with no hard breaks between the variety of scenes, a really nice job.  The black border around the video is not my most favorite feature. I like for the AMV to take up the complete screen, but that’s just me. You can catch the AMV on YouTube under “Anime Dance Anime AMV – Party All Night” or check it out here:

CBLDF has Article Talking about the Rockefeller Bill

The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund’s website has an interesting article talking about the Rockefeller Bill mandating a study into media violence and their effects.  Even though this went through the Supreme Court once before showing there was no cause and effect with media violence and cultural behavior.  The link is provided below so you can read the complete article.
