Antix gives us the softer side of Rap. I really enjoyed this single and music video of “Come Home”. The single had a good beat and the vocals are nice and crisp. The video is the style I like were you get a little bit of a short film interspersed with Antix sprinkled in. It seemed heart felt dealing with struggles that some families go through. Live Hart Brings a Smooth Sound
Live Hart is a young woman that sounds confident in her singing. She has a smooth Jazz/Soul sound. Listening to the samples I’ve listen to so far is that she doesn’t strain her voice to hit notes that are out of her range. She knows her voice and works it beautifully. Check out her song “Please Don’t Say It’s Over” from her YouTube channel. Live Hart won’t disappoint – Richard
DragonBall Xenoverse Trailer
DragonBall Xenoverse was released this past February 24 to purchase. If you are a DragonBall fan you will definitely want to pick it up and gamers in general usually like the DragonBall video games so this is one everyone might want to add to their collection. Check out the trailer for it from Bandai Namco Games Europe which is streaming it on their YouTube channel:
Take a “Meeting” with the Road Man
Road Man got me from the first drum beat and then the guitar comes in…yes, yes, yes! His current single is “The Meeting” and it sounds great. It has a clean simple beat and his voice is clear and hits all the right notes. He has a little bit of country and rhythm and blues mixed together and I love the sound. He has provided us his music video for “The Meeting” through his YouTube channel so be sure to check it out – Richard
Tank Vase?!
Sometimes you just have to have fun. A company in Japan has fashioned a tank vase inspired from the anime Girls und Tanks. The vase is from a scene in which character Hana Isuzu made such an arrangement. This vase was limited to only 100 pieces and quickly sold out on pre-order, for 12,960 Yen or approximately $108. I don’t know if I would spend that much on this, but it is a fun item to see made.
Casting for New Supergirl TV Series
Claus Zinger’s “If You Only Knew”
Claus Zinger is an interesting artist. He states that he is not the best musician. I think finding yourself as a musician is part of the battle and then you move forward. So he has begun this battle with the single “If You Only Knew” from his self-released album. Claus has some great moments and then some interesting moments. I will have to listen to more of his work to make a definite call, but I can say he is a musician. I love some of the instrumentation that he has just figure out what he wants to do with his vocals will be key. Give him a listen through the Surviving the Golden Age link here and see what you think about “If You Only Knew” http://survivingthegoldenage.com/claus-zinger-if-you-only-knew/ : Richard
Jem and the Holograms
Okay this is being done, Jem & the Holograms live action movie from Universal Studios. See picture above of some of the cast. There is either a lot of squealing going on right now or confused looks. I was never the biggest Jem fan to begin with, but hey if you are a fan have fun with it and enjoy. To be honest I’ll probably watch it to.
Leonard Nimoy’s Passing
I know everyone knows about Leonard Nimoy’s passing this weekend, but I was out of town and did not have access to a computer. Of course most people remember him for his most iconic role of Spock, of Star Trek, which I do as well. However that wasn’t all he did and for a while he didn’t like Spock, as most stereo type roles happen with their actors.
Still after a time he was able to accept the role of Spock and what it meant to many people. For me being a little more introverted and Logan even more with his Asperger’s, I saw a character that could thrive and have friends even with his differences from other people. True he was technically an alien, but he was the one I identified with the most because of Spock’s personality. I have grown out of my quietness for the most part, but I still revert at times and I am a very stoic person with fewer expressive emotions than most.
I know Star Trek means a lot to people in the scientific community, but for me it was the psychological end of Star Trek and Spock specifically that I will remember. People knew Spock, but he only had a handful of true friends, which he treasured. As I said I am that same way….people know me, but I have very few true friends and once they become that for me they are for the rest of my time. Family that I love have an even more special place within my heart, but true friendship is right next to that level.
My instructors, over the years, this website and podcast have opened up a new avenue for me to meet new people for all areas of life and I have found I am not as alone as I sometimes think….I just wish we could all be in one place to have a good time any time we wanted.
Thank you for indulging me in this ramble and to the Nimoy family I send my deepest sympathies and prayers and know that your loved one touch some many people in so many different ways, this is but one. – Richard
