When Marnie Was There Trailer

marnie

The next Studio Ghibli animated film to be released in the U.S. is When Marnie Was There.  It is scheduled to open on May 22.  Studio Ghibli is always associated with fine work and this looks to be the same.  Just the song that plays with the trailer evokes a specific mood.  Check out the trailer through the “Catsuka” channel on YouTube:

Eiffels “Did It Now”

museeiffels1

The Eiffels debut single, from their upcoming self titled EP, is “I Did It Now”.  This group has a 1980’s synth rock feel to them in this single.  It has a great base beat, that will have your head bobbing.  “I Did It Now” isn’t a pop rock sound, it has a darker feel to it with the heavy drum beat.  Check it out through SoundCloud – Richard:

Well Wishes for Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford

Everyone has heard about Harrison Ford and his mishap with a vintage trainer from the WWII era.  Thankfully he wasn’t hurt seriously, from last I heard.  We here at ComicPop want to send our Get Well wishes to him along with everyone else in fandom.

Coffeehouse’s Acoustic version of “On This Side”

musecoffehouse

Coffeehouse has a nice cool sound with their music that you should check out.  However, in this instance they want everyone to check out their Acoustic version of their single “On This Side”.  This version definitely has a different feel than the original, but in a good way.  Both version are well done and enjoyable.  Check out “On This Side – Acoustic Version” through their YouTube channel – Richard:

Charlotte Teaser Trailer

charllotte

AnimeNews Nework has released a post about a new upcoming anime entitled Charlotte.  Might not sound like much but if you are a fan of Angel Beats! you will definitely be interested in Charlotte.  Jun Maeda is the writer for Charlotte and she was also the writer for Angel Beats!, if you haven’t seen it you need to find a copy of the series and watch it.  My family really enjoyed Angel Beats!  P.A. Works will be providing the animation for the series and Na-Ga is doing the original character designs.  As popular and good that Angel Beats! was hopefully after Charlotte’s run on TV we will get it over here through one of the North American distributors.  Check out the teaser trailer from Charlotte TVCM:

I Fight Dragons, That Alone Should Get Your Interest

ifightdragons

Just look at this picture of the band I Fight Dragons.  This band is made for us fans.  The band has recently released the album The Near Future.  This album can be purchased on their website, in Vinyl no less, http://ifightdragons.spinshop.com/ .  It has a mixture of instrumental pieces and lyrical pieces.   The best way to experience the album is through their YouTube channel.  I Fight Dragons has crafted a story to follow with their singles that is either told through their lyrics or on screen, for the instrumental pieces, to read.  If you can’t tell I’ve found a new band to follow.  They are hitting all my buttons in music and fandom.  To experience them check out their second song, “Eighteen”, of the album from their YouTube channel – Richard:

Thunderbirds Are Go!

thunder

Thunderbird fans get to revisit with Thunderbirds Are Go!  ITV has released images for the upcoming computer animated series and below is the trailer feature sets for the series, created by Weta Workshop.  The animation for the series is in a style that harkens back to the marionettes of the original series.  Looks to be good, lets hope it is and will capture an audience:

“Party Dress” by Michael Stec

city bird publicitymichael

Michael Stec gives everyone a “Party Dress”.  Michael falls within the Rock genre, but not a heavy rock.  If you could maybe say lighter rock sound with “Party Dress”  The single has a catchy rhythm and hook so I believe most will enjoy it like I did.  Give Michael a listen through SoundCloud – Richard

Anime Bear Style

bear2bear1

More Kumamate Bears are coming out through the Animate chain store.  A couple are pictured above that where inspired by Card Captor Sakura and Yowamushi Pedal Grande Road.  Not sure if this will be obtainable here, but check with your favorite anime/manga retailer.  They are kind of cute.
