We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
El Conjunto Nueva Ola (ECNO) is one of those bands that will just grab you with their infectious fun loving attitude. We will be doing a podcast will more of their music later, but until then you can enjoy their cover of Billy Idol’s “Dancing with Myself”. BlackPanda PR and Aili Watanabe send us the next outing for Claus Zinger. This time it is his music video for his single “No One I Know”. This single I would squarely place in the experimental genre. This is one you will have to listen to and judge for yourself if you enjoy it or not and that is the whole thing with experimental music. This July DC will be releasing another animated movie entitled: Justice League: Gods and Monsters. With this movie the company is trying some new approaches tied to it. They will be releasing a toy line to help support it and they will also be releasing a three part animated series, Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles, a couple of weeks before the movie is released. This animated series will be an exclusive on YouTube’s network Machinima. The trailer is provided by WarnerBrosOnline channel:
Taped3ck’s “Hey L.A. (Los Angeles)” has a touch of angry rock to it and the music video has some elements of Purge, with the face masks happening. The song itself has a good rhythm to it and is catchy. It isn’t angry enough to drive listeners away from the song. And if nothing else you got to love the hair! Go “hawk”! Here “Hey L.A. The Pet Girl Sakurasou is now available through Sentai Filmworks. This is one that is for the older audiences so you might want to preview it before adding it to library collections. It is listed as a romantic comedy, but just by the trailer you can tell it is for young adults and up. Here is the Japanese trailer from “Irvin Zimbron’s” YouTube channel.
Thanks to Brooke of CyberPR for sending us another artist to look at. This time it is Meresha with her EP New Revolution. We get to hear “Lemonade City”. Meresha has a lower sultry voice that places her sound within the R&B genre. However, in “Lemonade City’ you can hear elements of the Pop genre as well.
