We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
Mary Jennings is sharing with us her latest single “Home” from her album Metamorphosis. Mary jumps right in with from the very beginning with this single. The single has a quality that is soothing to the ear and almost transcendent sounding. I’m not sure how to describe “Home”. The single just surrounds you in its tone, you’ll just have to listen to it to see what I’m trying to describe. “Home” is a very lovely song that Mary is sharing with us through SoundCloud – Richard:
Kizumonogatari Trailer is in English subtitles are will debut this coming January. The way I understand it is that it is the first part of a movie trilogy. Thanks to AniplexUS’s YouTube channel for the following trailer:
Victoria Celestine ponders that feeling that everyone gets in her latest single “As We Grow Old”. However, this tune doesn’t take on an old feel. It is upbeat with a Techno vibe that you would find in the 1980’s to early 1990’s. Victoria herself has a soft higher register voice that if she isn’t careful with the music will over take her lyrics. With “As We Grow Old” this is stretched to the limit, but she stays within the level of blending with the music more than being overpowered by it. Of course this movie is based off the novel, by the same name, written by Seth Grahame-Smith where he took Jane Austen’s original novel and turned it on it’s head. One will have to just go into this movie to have some fun. I don’t think it is meant to be anything other than a fun movie you can take in with a friend and have a rollicking time. Ted Z and The Wranglers is sharing with us their latest single “Go Find Your Heaven” – Radio Edit. This single will appeal to our Country/Western listeners. This group has their feet firmly planted in the Country/Western genre with this single. This means there isn’t a lot of competing sounds. The instrumentals are small listed and pure and the vocals come through nice and strong. Think back to the Country that was playing back in the 1970’s to 1980’s, before country went with a more electric sound. A nice job all around. If you like music from the 1980’s to early 1990’s Secret Weapons latest is for you. Gerry Lange and Dan E. make up this Brooklyn duo and they are sharing with us their single “Something New”. “Something New” has a good beat and will get you singing along with the single in no time…at least it was that way for me and I’m ready to hear more from them. Robert Kirkman is a happy man and so are his fans. Another one of his comic book titles is being made into a television series. This time it is his recent title entitled Outcast and it will be on Cinemax. So make sure you are ready for another ride with Kirkman in 2016. Check out the trailer through Cinemax’s YouTube channel:
DaniElle DaLaite comes to us from Australia to share her music video for her single “Shooting Stars”. DaniElle has this nice soft voice that could get lost in the music, but she doesn’t allow that to happen with this single. The music is set at the right level that her vocals are still nice and clearly heard, nice job of finding that balance. “Shooting Stars” itself has a light rock/pop feel that most will enjoy so check out DaniElle DaLaite’s “Shooting Stars” music video through her YouTube channel – Richard
