Alexis & The Samurai are sharing their single, “Dogs”, with our listeners. This is a very clean acoustical single that has a fun beat to it. It’s lighthearted and it goes in a variety of directions in tempos. You have an intermingling with folk and pop. The folk sound is evident in the verse and the pop really comes through in the chorus. Then you get to go on a piano journey with them towards the end of the single. The voices of the duo blend well with their harmonies and they are really fun to listen to. I’m interested in what they will do next, but until then have a fun lighthearted journey with Alexis & The Samurai’s single “Dogs” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Jody Quine Encourages All to “Stand Up”
Jody Quine is letting our listeners have a listen to her latest single “Stand Up”. “Stand Up” is a powerful single that encourages the listener to “stand up” for themselves and others. This is a ballad that I believe all can enjoy especially if they pay attention to the lyrics. “Stand Up” isn’t an overpowering song, but it is a powerful song with a great folk/blues blend for the listener to enjoy. This single is also the title track from Jody’s Stand Up album so enjoy “Stand Up” through SoundCloud – Richard:
piKzil Wants You go Get a “Brand New Soul”
piKzil is hitting the scene with, what I would call an electronic/lounge feel with their single “Brand New Soul”. The duo, Liza Oxnard and Kip Kuepper, are blending a couple of different musical genres to get their style. It will appeal to those who want to just have a nice relaxing drink while letting the music wash over them. piKzil has an album planned for release this month, until then here is piKzil’s “Brand New Soul” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Morgan’s Road Music Video for “Olde Cumberland”
Morgan’s Road is sharing with our listeners their latest music video for their single “Olde Cumberland”. With this single the band has an old 1970’s feel to it. The singing is somber and melodic, but the rhythm of the song keeps the listeners interest. Something like maybe the Eagles or Three Dog Night would do with a rock/folk/country sound. The music video itself is just an in studio recording type of video. Check out “Olde Cumberland” from Morgan’s Road YouTube channel – Richard:
JUNE dARK Rises like a “Phoenix”
JUNE dARK is delivering with “Phoenix”. June has a very solid/strong voice that comes through beautifully. “Phoenix” has a rock/ballad feel with a little bit of Eletronica thrown in. This single just has a fullness to it that sometimes is missing between the instrumentals and the singer, but June’s voice is strong enough that it isn’t lost it compliments the music. Very well done can’t wait to hear more from her. Here’s JUNE dARK’s “Phoenix” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Lushcamp “Love You More” Music Video
Lushcamp has released their music video for their single “Love You More”, from their self titled EP. “Love You More” is styled in a slower nuance rhythm. It makes me want to just sway with the music and feel the music in my body. A nice ballad type single to lead off with. Check out the music video for Lushcamp’s “Love You More” through their YouTube channel – Richard:
Matt Gumley’s Music Video for “Subway Rider”
We here at ComicPop are being treated to Matt Gumley’s music video to his single “Subway Rider”. This single is from his Six Degrees of Separation EP and is a fun Summer lovin’ song. It has a clear pop feel to the single with a mixture of a bit of folk thrown in with the acoustical elements. Matt has a clear voice that just fills you with a nice vibe that fits so well with this song. If “Subway Rider” doesn’t get your body to moving then I don’t know what will. Alice Underground Digs “Superman”!
Alice Underground is sharing with the ComicPop listeners her jazzy new single “Superman”. This is a fun song for fans of old school Jazz. Alice has a clear sultry voice that hits all the right notes and scats beautifully. Within the song their is a clear homage to Superman with the old theme song reflected in the single at certain points. This one hits our flavors perfectly especially how can it not with the title of “Superman”. I had to include the music video, even though it has no imagery of Superman, because it is just a fun video and the night club scene being in black and the pop of red gives a call out that is very subtle. Plus the video is just fun to watch, almost like you are watching Dancing with the Stars. Enjoy Alice Underground’s “Superman” through their YouTube channel – Richard:
Save the World’s “Bleed’ Music Video
Save the World bleeds for us in their music video “Bleed”. This is a hard rocking tune that the music video fits well. The single and video is about how a person can feel betrayed and then that person recentering themselves and taking control back in their life. Rock it out with Save the World’s music video for “Bleed” they are sharing through their YouTube channel – Richard:
