AMV Spotlight of the Week

This is another post from April. I was at a convention in Denver, CO this year and I was an audience member for the AMV contest. This particular video was in the comedy category and I died from laughter 50 times through the whole thing. It was the only true funny one on the category and by far the best all around. Though I did not get to see the results I have no doubt that this video did very well. 🙂

Thanks to YouTuber “BestAMVsOfAllTime1″ for the following AMV that was created by MysteriousRyder.  The song is Nice Guys Finish Last” performed by Chester See, KevJumba, and Ryan Higa and is edited around scenes from Fullmetal Panic! and Fumoffu.

AMV Spotlight of the Week

Since this weekend is Star Wars Reads Day I decided to go with a Star Wars AMV.  This AMV spotlights YouTuber “SaiTorrsVideos”.  The song “Let it Rock” performed by Kevin Rudolf (featuring Lil Wayne) was edited to a variety of Bounty Hunter scenes from The Clone Wars.  The songs a great upbeat song and fits the attitude of the bounty hunters perfectly.  Editing between scenes was very smooth and was fun to watch.  The only negative I have is that the end is chopped off, instead of letting the song fade out.  Great job “SaiTorresVideos”.  You can check out the AMV below or find it on YouTube under “Star Wars The Clone Wars – Bounty Hunter Tribute – Let it Rock”:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

Since it has been recognized as one on the best AMV’s of 2011 with good reason.  The editing is clean and the lip syncing is great.  Set back and just enjoy, it will put a smile on your face.  Check out the AMV on YouTube under “Safety Dance – Best Upbeat 2011” or right here:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks spotlight is on YouTuber devotfeige.  This individual takes the song “Moves Like Jagger” performed by Maroon 5, featuring Christina Aguilera and edits in scenes from the new Sherlock series on BBC.  “Moves Like Jagger” has been an infectious song since it first came out, but marrying it to Sherlock you would not think it would work.  For some reason it does.  Each time I watch this AMV I enjoy it.  It helps that I like the song and the new Sherlock.  The editing together of the scenes is done well and images are used that pretty well match the song lyrics.  Fun all the way around, great job devotfeige.  You can check out the AMV on YouTube under “Sherlock: Moves Like Jagger” and it is also below:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on YouTuber MeiChan923.  This is an older AMV from 2009, but it has a beautiful song and message to go with it.  The song is ‘You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up)” performed by Josh Groban.  MeiChan923 inspiration for the AMV was from Ryan Patrick Halligan’s story at http://www.ryanpatrickhalligan.org/ , for those needing someone to talk with link here for help http://suicidehotlines.com/.  The anime used for the AMV were Air, Clannad, Konon, and One.  It has won several competitions and it is well deserved.  It is a beautiful AMV with a powerful message.

Official “Weekender Girl” Video Released

Toy’s Factory has released Hatsune Miku’s music video to “Weekender Girl”.  Hatsune being a vocaloid means that several people helped with this creation.  Producers kz and Hachioji-P created the song and vocaloid producer Wakamura-P, helped create the video with the Project Diva staff and TNKS created the “Pansy” costume that Hatsune Miku wears in the video.  The song and video are a tie-in to Sega’s Hatsune Miku – Project Diva – F game.  Thanks to AnimeNews Network, Toy’s Factory and YouTube for the following video:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This week’s spotlight is on YouTuber malpercio6.  The AMV that was created takes the song “Dynamte” performed by Taio Cruz and edits it around clips from several anime.  The editing was done very cleanly.  The cuts from scene to scene were done with the bass (drum) beat of the song.  Black and white imagery and images of malpercio6’s own design (mainly stars with the words written within the stars) worked to great appeal.  The song itself is just a great upbeat song and no matter what you do, I beat you head will be moving to the beat.  Great job malpercio6.  You can check out the AMV below or find it on YouTube under “[MEP] Like It’s Dynamite”:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on YouTuber xthehuntressx.  Xthehuntressx takes the song “Fighter” performed by Christina Aguilera and edits it around scenes from Justice League.  These cut scenes are very clean and crisp, which makes the AMV so much nicer to view.  At one point I began to wonder if xthehuntressx used Black Canary to emulate Ms. Aguilera, when Black Canary is using her sonic scream I just pictured Aguilera hit her high notes.  The one fault I have for the AMV is that it has side borders. If the video image would have fit the YouTube screen it would have been more attractive. One of the great things about this video is that you get to see a verity of DC heroes.  Some you will know and others that are less known unless you read DC Comics.  Great job xthehuntressx.  Thanks to YouTube for the video and you can find it on their site or check it out below:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

I know a couple of weeks have slipped by that I didn’t get to our AMV Spotlight.  This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber “garblehose”.  “Garblehose” takes the song “Secret Agent Man” performed by Johnny Rivers and edits it to scenes from the FX show Archer.  If you remember we did a review on Archer on Episode 17 of ComicPop Library podcast, so you knew we had to do an AMV of Archer eventually.  The selected scenes fit the lyrics of the song really well and the cuts are very clean.  Great job on this AMV “garblehose”. Be warned that this is a mature AMV and is not appropriate for all audiences, it contains violence and partial nudity.  You can check out the AMV below or on YouTube under “Archer – Secret agent man”:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks spotlight is on YouTuber “kapparomeo”.  I picked this AMV because it is the week of our Fourth of July celebration and many men and women died to make this country.  This individual to the anime Sora no Woto and edited scenes to the song “It’s a Good Day to Die” from the movie Starship Troopers 3.  The editing was nicely done and the words fit the scenes very well since it is within the confines of battle/war.  Thanks to “kapparomeo” for the AMV and if you want to check it out you can go to YouTube and look under “Sora no Woto AMV – Starship Troopers 3″It’s a Good Day to Die” & Carl Fischer “Il Bersagliere” or check it out below:
