Honey I’m Good AMV

It’s been quite some time since I posted any AMVs.  Every so often I will throw one in or just a music video from an artist I really enjoy.  This time around I found an AMV on Xion the Dark’s YouTube channel where the song “Honey I’m Good” by Andy Grammer is used with a variety of anime mix.  The song is fun and the AMV is fun so enjoy:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This week we get a look at “bat21wae” AMV.  The video takes the song “I Get Knocked Down” performed by Tubthumping and edits scenes from Eureka Seven around it.  The scenes that are picked work with the lyrics and the transitions are smooth.  The only thing negative about this video is that it has subtitles are the button and the location number in the top left hand corner of the video.  If these would have been edited out the AMV would be so much better.  If you can look past the subtitles and counter number this is a pretty good video.  You can watch it below or on YouTube under “Eureka Seven – I get knocked Down”:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This week’s AMV Spotlight is on “Fenix86R”.  In this AMV, the individual takes the song “Bullet-Proof Skin” performed by Institute and edits in images from the Gatchaman OVA.  The editing is done nicely and the song works, but to be honest I chose this AMV because I’m a little biased toward Gatchaman.  When I was in elementary I would run home and watch Battle of the Planets.  At the time I was so young that I had no idea that it was a Japanese property.  Of course I know better now and anything that has any incarnation of Gatchaman hits my sweet spot.  Have fun watching the AMV below from “Fenix86R” on YouTube:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on YouTuber “dragonchic721”.  This is an older AMV and centers around Superman.  This individual took clips from the series Justice League and edited them to the song “Go the Distance” performed by Michael Bolton.  I know it is a slower song and it is from a Disney movie, but the AMV is well edited and the lyrics really fit the images as they are advancing through the video.  The opening is my most favorite part with the instrumental and seeing the Justice League Tower and then Superman flying around the edge at the crescendo, very nicely done. I enjoyed the AMV and thought it should get some additional looks from people.  You can look up the AMV on YouTube under “Justice League – Superman – Go the Distance” or check it out below:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight features an AMV uploaded by YouTuber “Rajiv Andrade”.  The video takes several anime shows and splices them together to fit with the featured song “Spirit Never Dies” performed by Masteplan.  The AMV is an older post, but it all fits together and is so well made that it deserves to be noticed again.  The creator takes the time to have the singers voices match up with the anime characters lip sync and it is nearly flawless.  Also with the lyrics of the song the creator uses anime that has that fighting spirit and to never give up.  The editing and splicing together of multiple scenes from different anime is also very impressive and seamless in their transitions. A great job on producing this video all the way around.  You can find it on YouTube under “Spirit Never Dies Anime AMV” or check it out below:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on “snowdragon25”.  Since we are getting ready for the biggest party of the year, I thought this AMV was appropriate.  “snowdragon25” took the song “Party All Night (Sleep All Day)” performed by Sean Kingston and edited in several clips from different anime that featured the main characters dancing or singing.  The scenes have some transitions with no hard breaks between the variety of scenes, a really nice job.  The black border around the video is not my most favorite feature. I like for the AMV to take up the complete screen, but that’s just me. You can catch the AMV on YouTube under “Anime Dance Anime AMV – Party All Night” or check it out here:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

Since it’s December this weeks AMV Spotlight is on a Christmas AMV.  It was uploaded by YouTuber “winxbilievix100”.  It doesn’t have very many views, but I enjoyed it.  This person took Mariah Carey’s performance of “All I want for Christmas is You” and added in images of a variety of anime.  Notice I said images, this isn’t a traditional AMV that has animation in it.  I think because of this I enjoyed it.  It is a simple AMV and the images are fun to watch with the catchy background music.  Because the AMV uses images, to me, it makes it feel like you are receiving postcards from these characters or they are pictures from a Christmas party that you had with these characters.  When you look at it in this way the AMV is great fun.  So check it out:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on the Connichi 2010 1st Place winner for “Confession to the Dancefloor”.  This AMV was uploaded by YouTuber “Giang Le Phan Linh”.  The AMV takes the song “Remedy” performed by Little Boots and edits several different Shogo Anime.  The edited scenes fit almost perfectly for the song.  What I really liked about this AMV, more than anything else, was it’s use of having parts in black and white with highlights of color and then shifting into the full color parts.  The black and white sections remind me of when I’m reading Manga and the splashes of color I think are really classy.  For me the imagery takes over the AMV and the song is secondary.  I can see why this one was a winner, great job!  You can watch it on YouTube under “[Connichi 2010 1st place] Confession To The Dancefloor – Remedy – Little Boots” or check it out below:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on YouTuber “misterhalf22”.  The song “Still Dreaming” performed by Silverstein and edits it around scenes from Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple.  The editing is done really well and the song fits the show.  The main draw back, as in some AMV’s is that subtitles are present in the edited scenes.  For me this is a little bit of a distraction that can be eliminated by a couple of clicks of a controller.  If you want to add in text or different background to augment the AMV that is one thing, but leaving subtitles in, for me, is distracting.  Otherwise I liked the video.  Check it out below:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight comes from YouTuber “HeardYouLikeAmvs2” again.  This is an upload of “JudgeHolden”s AMV for the song “Disco Heaven” performed by Lady Gaga.  This individual uses a variety of Anime to edit this AMV together.  The blending is great and several of the lyrics match up with lip syncing or the actions that are taking place in the AMV.  It hasn’t received many hits, but it is a fun AMV so check it out on YouTube under “Amv – Disco Heaven” or watch it below:
