Pokemon is Flying High

All Nippon Airways unveiled it’s newest jet paint design yesterday.  The ceremony was held at Toyko’s Haneda International Airport.  You can see an image of the jet above, which is a Pokemon jet “Peace Jet” where the company wants to express to their costumers and public “a world where the children’s futures are filled with smiles and peace”.  It’s great to see when companies can have fun like this.

Marvel Thanking U.S. Armed Services

Marvel’s site is announcing that they and the Army and Air Force Exchange Service will be giving away a free special Captain America comic to soldiers, that celebrates the soldiers in today’s Armed Forces.  This special issue will be available in U.S. Exchange Services first and then will hit the foreign Exchange Services.  The story centers around Captain America’s effect on his fellow soldiers and will also give readers a sneak peak of the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger.  The comic is written by William Harms and illustrated by Shawn Martinbrough.

Some of Bilbo’s Companions

Here are most of Bilbo Baggins’ dwarf companions that will be making the Quest of Erebor with him, in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  I didn’t want to have to make multiple posts so I waited until I could put the majority in one post.  When the last images are released I’ll post them as well.  Thanks to ICv2 for the images.

Thousand Sunny Dish

This is a fun little item that your patrons that are into One Piece or anime in general would probably like.  It’s the One Piece Dream Dessert Dish: Thousand Sunny.  Bandai’s official shopping site will have the Sunday dish up for pre-order Friday at 1:00 p.m. in Japan (Midnight EDT).  The dish is approximately 10 inches long and comes with 2 forks that feature the characters Luffy and Chopper.  The price tag on this cool item is 4,500 yen or $57.00 and is scheduled to ship in early November.  Check out the full article at the link below.

Enjoy Life Through Photos

I label this as “just plain cool”.  Natsumi Hayashi is a young woman, living in Tokyo, who has been doing self-portraits of herself and posting them on a daily blog.  However, as you can see above in her photographs she is doing more than just standing and setting around.  Her self-portraits are of her appearing to be levitating.  I saw this on DiggNation’s video cast and had to find it.  They commented that it takes her approximately 300 photos to get the 1 she likes for that day.  Jump over to her site, “yowayowa camera woman diary”, to see more great photos below.
