We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.

Our friends down in Oklahoma City are in need of your support. Over the past year we have become associated with Starbase Studios and many of their fan productions filmed there, i.e. Starship Valiant, Grissom, Melbourne, and Republic. The studio is a volunteer studio and they have built several sets and have all of their equipment their ready for fan productions to use at no cost. However, the studio is currently in the process of moving to a new location. This move is not going to be a minor undertaking.
As stated they have all of the equipment that has to be moved, but also several sets that include: Medical Bay, Transporter Room, Briefing Room, and a 360 degree Bridge (which is pictured above). The friends of the studio have set up a gofundme campaign to cover costs of moving all of their studio. If you can support them in any way it would be greatly appreciated and you can keep the Star Trek fan film productions alive to continue with new fan film productions in the future. Scam Avenue is sharing with the ComicPop listeners their music video for “Sailor”. With “Sailor” this band is definitely placing their sound squarely in the New Wave sound of the 1980’s. The sound is reminiscent to something Human League would produce and for me this is gravy. Being a child of the ’80’s I eat this music up. The music video has parts where the vocalists are walking down the street until they meet each other. However, for me the more unique thing that I enjoy was when the duo was on screen and the instruments were laid over their images…very cool effect. Romance & Rebellion is sharing with our listeners their music video for their single “Vanity Fair”. The single is a strong call back to the 1980’s with a nicely paced electro ballad. The pacing of the single is so that it keeps the listener pulled in, it’s not slow or to fast. I guess you could say it’s just right. The music video is a straight up performance type video as if the band was playing at a prom.
