Disney is trying to reach out to the romance readers with Marvel Heroines, through it’s Hyperion Books publishing branch. This new venture will hit shelves in June with She-Hulk Diaries by Marta Acosta and Rogue Touch by Christine Woodward. You might check them out to and see if they are something you want in your collections.

Lucky Star Chemistry Books
Ever wanting to take Chemistry with your favorite fictional characters. You can with these two books. Chukei Publishing Company has released Impressive Learning Chemistry (Organic Chemistry) with Lucky Star, where the reader is reading the story with the Lucky Star characters taking the class with them. This release follows the company’s earlier release Impressive Learning Chemistry (Theories) with Lucky Star. School would have been so much funnier if I would have had these type of text books.
Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home Trailer
Pony Canyon has begun streaming the trailer for Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home on their YouTube channel. It looks to be a pretty descent movie. It will open nationwide in Japan March 30 and advance ticket buyers will receive a 5 card exclusive postcard set of the characters. Hopefully this will be brought to the North American market and the exclusive incentives would be cool to get with movies here in the States. Every so often this has happened with a free poster or even in the past a free comic book and do you remember the free Yu-Gi-Oh cards that came with the showing of that movie. I would like to see this more often, it just makes movie going so much neater. Anyway, back on topic here is the trailer for Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home:

AMV Spotlight of the Week
This week we get a look at “bat21wae” AMV. The video takes the song “I Get Knocked Down” performed by Tubthumping and edits scenes from Eureka Seven around it. The scenes that are picked work with the lyrics and the transitions are smooth. The only thing negative about this video is that it has subtitles are the button and the location number in the top left hand corner of the video. If these would have been edited out the AMV would be so much better. If you can look past the subtitles and counter number this is a pretty good video. You can watch it below or on YouTube under “Eureka Seven – I get knocked Down”:

Still Outcry on Video Games
More are getting on the band wagon against video games, this time its Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA). This happened with the comic book medium in the 1950’s. Excerpts from the article by Betsy Gomez follows:
The Hill reported on Grassley’s comments, during which Grassley mentioned Call of Duty: Modern Warfare specifically because Anders Behring Breivik, the Norway mass shooter, cited the game as a training tool. During his statement, Grassley asked, “Where is the artistic value in shooting innocent civilians?” He further stated that he shared Vice President Biden’s disbelief in manufacturer claims that video games do not have an impact on real world violence.
Scientific evidence does not support Grassley’s (or Vice President Biden’s) conclusion. The Washington Post‘s Max Fisher recently looked at the statistics related to gun violence in the countries with the highest rate of violent video game usage and found that the United States was a statistical outlier in a trend that actually shows a slight decrease in gun violence as per capita video game usage increases. Further, Kotaku examined 25 years of video game research, looking at both sides of the argument in an article that ultimately supports the idea that there is a lack of scientific evidence supporting a link between violent video games and gun violence.
