AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber DaiKunProductions.  DaiKunProductions takes the song “Ready to Roll”, performed by Jet Black Stare and edits in images from Initial D.  This is a great song to get your blood pumping and the Initial D scenes work perfectly with the song.  This AMV was also a finalist at Anime Expo in 2009.  This is definitely one that will get your head rocking and your foot tapping…..Great job all around.  You can watch the video below or search for it on YouTube under “Ready To Drift – Anime Expo 2009 AMV Contest Acton Finalist”.

3DS at the Louvre

On April 11, the Louvre art museum began renting Nintendo 3DS’ that provides audio and visual commentary on the works in the museum.  The DS also has a map feature that one can use to navigate the museum and know where they are at within the museum.  The rental fee is approximate $6.50 in U.S. currency and is available in French, English, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish and Italian.  A new way that gaming systems are making their way into everyday life.  There was no comment on if you own your own 3DS if the app can be downloaded.  So at this point it seems that you have to rent the Louvre’s 3DS’.

Student Works Around Comic Book Ban

Comic Book Legal Defense Fund has a great story about a young Alaskan boy that used comic books in his science fair to work around his teachers ban on comic books in the classroom.  The young man contacted Chris Wilson, with the Graphic Classroom website, via Skype and asked him several questions and Chris even sent him a PowerPoint on the topic.  The young man’s project, about comics in education, went to the Alaska State Science Fair where it won 1st place.  Great job!  Link below to Graphic Classroom’s website.
