Remember Red came out on DVD this week, which is adapted from Warren Ellis’ Wildstorm graphic novel. This is one that most people wouldn’t think is a graphic novel so libraries can use this DVD to draw interest in the graphic novel section of your library. Ironman 2 is up for a Oscar nomination for Achievement in Special Effects. Marvel’s site has a brief article that lists the individuals that are represented in this nomination in the link below.

Today comic stores will be receiving copies of X-Men #7. What’s so special about that? Well some retailers are having a “party” event for this release. If your library patrons get to the retailers fast enough there will be free Limited prints by Marko Djurdjevic. I know this is an older article, but I wanted to let the library community know that our own American Library Association appreciates the efforts of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. ICv2 reports that the publications Wizard and Toyfare will no longer be in print. Like several other publications these two magazines are moving to just on-line versions. ICv2 is reporting that three comic based properties have hired writers. The properties are War Machine, Brodie’s Law and Ascend. We’ll see if these actually come to pass, because the movie industry can be fickle. Read more at:
