Batman Rises

ICv2 is reporting that Warner Bros. is stating that Batman: Dark Knight Rises has begun principal photography.  The article also mentions that this film will be filmed using cameras for IMAX theaters, will the filming be for the whole movie though?  If it is then it will be the first movie to be filmed completely with IMAX equipment, but it doesn’t sound like this will happen yet.  Planned release date is currently for July 20, 2012.

Backlash over Superman renouncing his citizenship has already started.  With some people planning on boycotting anything DC Comics right know.  This might not have been the best move for DC Comics, since Warner Bros. has the Green Lantern movie coming out in just a few weeks.  ICv2’s has a full article on what this story has stirred up at the following link.

Akria Cast Questioned

Akira is facing the same question that arose with the cast of The Last Airbender.  Akira is being looked at for a live action movie from Hollywood.  At this time Warner Bros. is wanting the location of the story changed from Tokyo to New York.  By doing this they are also recasting the movie with Anglo actors, instead of casting actors with an Asian background.  The question is why does Hollywood feel the need to change the ethnicity in a story to make a movie?  Even with the location changed to New York, we are the United States where all ethnic backgrounds are to be blurred.  Check out the full story at ICv2’s site linked below.
