For your patrons that enjoy crime stories might be getting a show for them. ICv2 is reporting that Vertigo’s, 100 Bullets, by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso is being produced by Warner Bros. TV as a television series for Showtime. We will see if this actually comes to pass or not. But it’s interesting water cooler talk.

Hoping for an Expedition to the African Wilds
ICv2’s site is reporting that Warner Bros. has optioned Craig Brewer to write and direct a trilogy of movies based on Edgar Rice Burrough’s Tarzan. Hollywood has tried this property in the past and each adaption just hasn’t hit with fans. If this comes to fruition hopefully it will do better.
New Green Lantern Trailer Released
Batman Rises
ICv2 is reporting that Warner Bros. is stating that Batman: Dark Knight Rises has begun principal photography. The article also mentions that this film will be filmed using cameras for IMAX theaters, will the filming be for the whole movie though? If it is then it will be the first movie to be filmed completely with IMAX equipment, but it doesn’t sound like this will happen yet. Planned release date is currently for July 20, 2012.
Amulet gets Writer
ICv2 is reporting that Ron Edwards is currently attached as the writer for a possible adaptation of Kazu Kibuishi’s Amulet movie. Will Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment obtained the rights to Amulet in 2008 and is working with Warner Bros. as a distributor. Hopefully this is a good sign and this project can now move forward. Only time will tell. Link to the brief article below.

Backlash over Superman
Backlash over Superman renouncing his citizenship has already started. With some people planning on boycotting anything DC Comics right know. This might not have been the best move for DC Comics, since Warner Bros. has the Green Lantern movie coming out in just a few weeks. Akria Cast Questioned
Akira is facing the same question that arose with the cast of The Last Airbender. Akira is being looked at for a live action movie from Hollywood. At this time Warner Bros. is wanting the location of the story changed from Tokyo to New York. By doing this they are also recasting the movie with Anglo actors, instead of casting actors with an Asian background. The question is why does Hollywood feel the need to change the ethnicity in a story to make a movie? Supernatural Anime
Libraries that have patrons that enjoy the Supernatural television series, books, and graphic novels will want to get this Blu-Ray/DVD set. Warner Bros. Television has announced that Supernatural: The Anime Series will be released in the U.S. on July 26. Both lead actors, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, have lent their voices for all 22 episodes.
