Thor Takes Box Office
It is being reported that Thor topped the box office this past weekend by taking in $66 Million. A respectful opening, but will it retain the top spot for long? Priest is hitting theaters this weekend to try and take Thor’s place at the top of the heap.

Foo Fighters take on Thor
For librarians that have patrons that enjoy Thor, but also the band Foo Fighters can use this as a talking point. Foo Fighters latest song “Walk” will be played in a scene in the upcoming Thor movie and over the end credits. Follow the link to ICv2 for the brief article.
Thor: Tales of Asgard Animated Movie
Thanks to Marvel for posting a clip to the upcoming Thor: Tales of Asgard. This animated, straight to DVD/Blu-Ray, movie is slated for a May 17 release date. Libraries that have fans of Thor and animation in general will want to let them know about the new movie and if your library will be getting it so they can keep an eye for when it hits your shelves.
Marvel & Oscar Crossing Paths
Yahoo has a nice article about how many past and present Oscar Nominees are taking rolls in comic book movies. They are from Thor: Natalie Portman; Kenneth Branagh, Director; Adriana Barraza; and past winner Anthony Hopkins. From X-Men First Class is Jennifer Lawrence and from Avengers: Mark Ruffalo; Jeremy Renner; Robert Downey Jr.; and Samuel L. Jackson.
