Is This a Halloween Treat or Trick?

This is a strange one.  If true it will have the Star Wars fan community in a buzz.  Yahoo has an article from the Associated Press, by Ryan Nakashima, that says George Lucas has sold his film companies to Disney to include the Indiana Jones and Star Wars franchises.  The sell is reported to be for $4.05 billion.  I’m not sure if this excites me or not.  With Disney’s track record with Science Fiction movies I don’t know.  Check out the article by following the link below.

Update: I guess this is a done deal.  I’m excited about this and hesitant as well.  My feelings lean more to the excited part of it with Episode 7 in theaters in 2015.

Instant Graphic Novel Collection

During the 2011 Texas Library Association annual conference, Eduardo Zepeda of the Weslaco Public Library, won the “Great Graphic Novel Library Giveaway” from Dark Horse Comics.  Michel Martens, VP of Book Trade Sales of Dark Horse presented the $20,000 award that included 700 handpicked titles.  So if Weslaco didn’t have a graphic novel collection before they have one now.  Congratulations to Eduardo and Weslaco Public Library.  Follow the link to Dark Horse’s site for the story.
