Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars is coming to select theaters on August 21, through Fathom Events. It is a CG animated movie that is a sequel to the live action Starship Troopers movie of 1997. Ed Neumeier, the screenwriter for the 1997 film, is the screenwriter again for this sequel and Casper Van Dien (Johnny Rico) and Dina Meyer (Dizzy Flores) will reprise their roles by providing the voices for their characters. So check with you local theaters and maybe you will be one of the few that can see this film on the big screen. Here’s the trailer through Fathom Events YouTube channel:

AMV Spotlight of the Week
This weeks spotlight is on YouTuber “kapparomeo”. I picked this AMV because it is the week of our Fourth of July celebration and many men and women died to make this country. This individual to the anime Sora no Woto and edited scenes to the song “It’s a Good Day to Die” from the movie Starship Troopers 3. The editing was nicely done and the words fit the scenes very well since it is within the confines of battle/war. Possible CG Starship Troopers
AnimeNews Network reports that Sony Pictures announced that director Shinji Aramaki will be directing a CG Starship Troopers: Invasion film. Aramaki is known for his work on the CG Appleseed films. The Starship Troopers film is due out in the Summer of 2012.
