Leonard Nimoy’s Passing

"Star Trek" Los Angeles Premierespock

I know everyone knows about Leonard Nimoy’s passing this weekend, but I was out of town and did not have access to a computer.  Of course most people remember him for his most iconic role of Spock, of Star Trek, which I do as well.  However that wasn’t all he did and for a while he didn’t like Spock, as most stereo type roles happen with their actors.

Still after a time he was able to accept the role of Spock and what it meant to many people.  For me being a little more introverted and Logan even more with his Asperger’s, I saw a character that could thrive and have friends even with his differences from other people.  True he was technically an alien, but he was the one I identified with the most because of Spock’s personality.  I have grown out of my quietness for the most part, but I still revert at times and I am a very stoic person with fewer expressive emotions than most.

I know Star Trek means a lot to people in the scientific community, but for me it was the psychological end of Star Trek and Spock specifically that I will remember.  People knew Spock, but he only had a handful of true friends, which he treasured.  As I said I am that same way….people know me, but I have very few true friends and once they become that for me they are for the rest of my time.  Family that I love have an even more special place within my heart, but true friendship is right next to that level.

My instructors, over the years, this website and podcast have opened up a new avenue for me to meet new people for all areas of life and I have found I am not as alone as I sometimes think….I just wish we could all be in one place to have a good time any time we wanted.

Thank you for indulging me in this ramble and to the Nimoy family I send my deepest sympathies and prayers and know that your loved one touch some many people in so many different ways, this is but one. – Richard

Big Bang Parody Music Video

Geoffrey the Giant “Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock’
Hilarious Spoof on The Big Bang Theory

Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock is a side-splitting video that parodies the shows favourite characters settling their dispute in true Big Bang style– with a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard Spock

Sam Kass himself, the inventor of the cult game and the man who has been hailed on the show by Sheldon, Leonard, Raj and Howard, gave Geoffrey his full seal of approval on hearing the track.

The track is taken from Geoffrey’s forthcoming aptly titled Geoffrey the Giant’s Big Bang. Geoffrey is a singer-songwriter from Ottawa Canada who aside from being a very funny man is also incredibly talented singer and has as already dueted with Carly Rae Jepsen on Canadian Idol and song-writing legend Ron Sexsmith.

Of course everyone is familiar with the Big Bang Theory.  Geoffrey has a clear voice and the song has a catchy tune that once listened to you won’t be able to get the chorus out of you head.  Not really sure if more of Geoffrey the Giant’s songs will be parodies or if this is just something he wanted to do, time will tell.  Check out the video here from the Geoffrey the Giant’s channel on YouTube:
