Coloring Books Aren’t Just For Kids Anymore

Marvel is trying to tap into all the adults that still love to color.  I myself have to admit to coloring in a coloring book every now and again.  Marvel is producing three to test the market over the next year.  The first coloring book will be out in October for $7.99 and will be entitled Avengers: Age of Ultron Coloring Book and will have 72 pages of artwork from professional artists in the industry.  Then in February 2016, Marvel will release Little Marvel by Skottie Young Coloring Book and the last coloring book will be released in May 2016, Civil War Coloring Book.  These are meant for adult audiences and I can see people buying two…one to save the artwork and one to actually color in, but the question will be will adults pay $7.99 for a coloring book?  We will see.

Oz Continues Down the Yellow Brick Road

Marvel is continuing the Oz series with the fourth mini-series adapting the fourth book, Dorothy & The Wizard of Oz, written by L. Frank Baum.  Eric Shanower and Skottie Young will continue the writing and art for the group of mini-series.  The mini-series will be eight issues long.  However, libraries will want to wait for the collected edition to place in their collections.
