Sailor Moon Exhibit Now Open

Eric Stimson has posted a cool article with photos on AnimeNews Network about a new Sailor Moon exhibit opening in Japan.  The exhibit opened on April 16 and is scheduled to run through June 19 at Tokyo’s Roppongi Hills Observation Deck.  The exhibit contains giant scrolls drawn by Sailor Moon’s creator Naoko Takeuchi, several other pieces of artwork anime artifacts, manga artifacts, costumes, and memorabilia and collectibles divided among six different rooms.  So if you happen to be traveling in the area and are a Sailor Moon fan you might want to make plans to swing by the exhibit.  Follow the link to additional pictures, of the Sailor Moon exhibit, at AnimeNews Network’s page: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2016-04-17/sailor-moon-exhibit-opens-in-usagi-hometown/.101123

Sailor Moon Musical

Japan enjoys making all forms of entertainment with successful properties.  This time it is the Sailor Moon Musical, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon.  The DVD, of the casts performance, is scheduled for a January 28 release in Japan.  The suggested price is 7.800 Yen, which would roughly be $70.00 in U.S. currency.  The trailer for the DVD can be viewed through the “sailormoon – official” YouTube channel:

Sailor Moon Concert

iconiQ, the Soundtrack Orchestra, puts together anime, cartoon, and video game inspired melodies.  This time around they are presenting “Sailor Moon Symphony: SeraSymphony Live!”  The fan arrangement, courtesy of Artistic Director Bobbie Lee Crow III, and will feature violinist Christina Bouey and Composer/Pianist Yasahiko Fukuoka.  Songs from the original first five seasons of Sailor Moon will be spotlighted.

The concert is at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, in Manhattan, on October 10 at 8:00 p.m.  Tickets are $20 at the door or you can obtain them online here: http://serasymphony.peatix.com/

Sailor Moon being Streamed

It has been announced that Sailor Moon Crystal will be streamed on Hulu and Hulu+.  Toei Animation the producer of the series will stream English Subbed episodes simultaneously with the Japanese episodes (1st and 3rd Saturday’s of each month).  Viz Media which has the distribution rights for the North American market will have the episodes streaming on NeonAlley.com and Crunchyroll.  Check out the trailer here from the “vizmedia” YouTube channel:

Sailor Moon Still bringing out Merchandise

Sailor Moon keeps having a bang up year as Bandai keeps bringing out new items for their Sailor Moon fans.  The latest round can be pre-ordered on the Bandai Fashion Net and the items are pictured above.  You have four items you can choose from: Luna Hoodie 8,978 yen ($90); Luna Slippers 2.940 yen ($30); Sailor Moon Beanie 3,675 ($37); and Sailor Moon Jacket 13,388 ($140).

 

For Your Anime Valentines

Are you ready for Valentines.  Yes it is a few months away, but Premium Bandai has put up for pre-order two valentine chocolate sets for you anime valentine.  The featured anime is Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Sailor Moon.  Both are pictured above.  The Madoka Magica is in a gold-stamped and embossed box featuring Madoka and Homura and the Sailor Moon box has Sailor Moon in silhouette.  Each box contains ten pieces of chocolate and is priced at 2,626 yen ($26.60).  This would be a cool valentine, so if you can do it go for it.

 

Sailor Moon Inspired Cosmetic

If you are a Sailor Moon fan here is something you might enjoy.  Bandai’s official shopping site, Premium Bandai is offering the above cosmetic.  Bandai’s cosmetic branch Creer Beaute is releasing this “Shining Moon Powder” for Sailor Moon’s 20th Anniversary.  The cosmetic is inspired from the Sailor Moon R’s Crystal Star Broach and retails for 3,980 yen (approximately $40.00).
