Nick Valentini Collective Rides the “Carousel”

mora may agencyNick-Valentini-Collective-678x381

The Nick Valentini Collective invites the ComicPop listeners to ride the “Carousel”.  This band, as you can tell by the above pic, has many members and they utilize the talents of each to derive their sound.  The single “Carousel” to me has four distinct levels to it.  The first part of the single gives one a meditative feel with nice soulful harmonies and then it shifts into a more pop sound with an upbeat tempo, next it hits the pinnacle with a maddening beat, to the drop of that goes back to the soulfulness in the beginning of the single.  I believe “Carousel” is meant to be an introspective piece for the band and the listener to experience.  The music video that the Collective is sharing is very peaceful and beautiful to watch.  The band has an album in the works for this Summer, but for now to wet our appetites The Nick Valentini Collective is sharing the music video for “Carousel” through their YouTube channel.  This is an interesting sound and I’m looking forward to what else the band will produce – Richard:

Maggie Szabo’s Music Video for “Forgive and Forget”

balconytvMaggie-Szabo-Forgive-and-Forget-2016

We featured Maggie Szabo’s single “Forgive and Forget” a while back and now she has released the music video for the single.  Maggie’s single is a strong and haunting piece and the video has those tones as well.  There are some lighter areas as well when the video shifts to its dancing scenes, which Dancing with the Stars fans will enjoy.  For the video Maggie gets to share the screen with Vampire Diaries actor Chris Brochu which several will enjoy as well.  A very well crafted video that Maggie is sharing with our listeners through her Vevo YouTube channel – Richard:

Kill J gives us “Coda”

museKill J

Kill J is making her mark at SXSW and here with ComicPop Library.  She is sharing with our listeners her unique single “Coda” from her Quasi EP.  To me I put “Coda” in the Electronic/Pop category with some Experimental tinges thrown in for good measure.  Love the cover to her EP that is pictured above, it definitely fits with our style.  “Coda” has a strong beat with Kill J’s strong voice to support the lyrics.  It all fits together into a piece that has gotten me hooked.  I look forward to listening to the rest of her EP.  Enjoy “Coda” from Kill J’s EP Quasi through SoundCloud – Richard:

Rosie Carney’s Music Video for “Better Man”

muserosie carney

Rosie Carney delivers our listeners another soulful song with “Better Man”.  Rosie takes a contemplative tone to this single by slowing it down and being purposeful in her diction with her lyrics.  The video is well crafted and takes the viewer on a journey that makes you stop and slow down for a while.  Many thanks to Rosie Carney for sharing the music video for “Better Man” through her YouTube channel – Richard:

Thank you again to Rhonda for visiting with us.  It was a pleasure and we look forward to visiting with her again.  We have her title, Profit and Prosper with Public Relations: Insider Secrets to Make You a Success, that she is graciously allowing us to read and then get back with her to visit specifically about her book and the Public Relations field.

Citabria Wants to “Take My Heart”

Citabria is sharing with the ComicPop listeners “Take My Heart”.  This single has a heavy base rhythm and electronic sound  that would feel comfortable in any club scene.  So get the weekend started early and check out Citabria’s lyric video to “Take My Heart” through their YouTube channel – Richard:

Shred Kelly Delivers Another Keeper with “Going Sideways”

museshred

Shred Kelly delivers another solid entry into the Folk genre, with “Going Sideways”.  Since being introduced to Shred Kelly I have enjoyed their music tremendously.  They have a bit of Mumford & Sons vibe to them that I think most people will enjoy.  The music video they have made for “Going Sideways” is very well made and very cinematic in style as it follows a downed pilot in the woods.  The scenery is beautiful and some of the shoots that are in the video are really unique and makes you wonder the fate of the pilot.  The music video is silent for the first few seconds, before the music comes in so don’t think you have to turn your sound up…nothing is wrong. Thanks to Shred Kelly for sharing, with us and our listeners, their music video of “Going Sideways” from their YouTube channel – Richard:

The Dumplings Music Video for “Kocham Byc z Toba”

musedumplings1

The Dumplings have released their second music video and want to share it with the ComicPop listeners.  Their second video is for the single “Kocham Byc z Toba”.  This single and video have a feel to them that conveys the passage of time.  Time is a steady flow and can’t be stopped.  Ups and downs will happen and everyone has to struggle through them.  Check out The Dumplings music video for “Kocham Byc z Toba” from their YouTube channel – Richard:
