Griffin Oskar is sharing with our listeners his title track from his EP “Hostage”. This single hit me just right. Griffin has a nice clear voice and the rhythm is catchy and got my interest right away. “Hostage has a pop/folk feel to it and as everyone knows I enjoy that type of music. The single also has elements of hip hop in it as well. Griffin’s Hostage EP has already been released so take a moment and check out “Hostage” through SoundCloud and if you enjoy it like I did be sure to support him by purchasing his EP – Richard:
Salt Petal’s Latest Single “Telephone”
Salt Petal is giving our listeners a trip to the beach with their single “Telephone”. This single has that surf music vibe to it that was really popular in the ’60’s. “Telephone” is from the band’s upcoming album Rare Hearts, and it is scheduled to drop April 28. So grab your board and enjoy Salt Petal’s single “Telephone” – Richard:
PEP latest single “Get Physical”
PEP wants everyone to enjoy their single “Get Physical”. If PEP’s sound is consistent with what they are doing with “Get Physical” they could be a fun group for me to listen to. The group has a few different styles going on with this single. They have a tribal beat going on that you would hear in something like The Lion King, but when they verse comes in I automatically go back to the ’50’s and thinking of how the Shangri-Las sang with “Leader of the Pack”. Then with the chorus you get a pop feel that gives you a ’70’s vibe. It doesn’t seem like all of these types of music would work, but it does and I’m eager to hear what PEP does next. Here’s “Get Physical”, by PEP, through SoundCloud – Richard:
Solarrio’s “Safety of a Mob” Music Video
Solarrio is sharing with us his music video for the single “Safety of a Mob”. This single has his signature electro/pop style, but he brings it down a little bit and has this single be a little introspective. We don’t get political here and even though the song title can be interpreted as political Solarrio handles it in such a way that the topic is neutral. “Safety of a Mob” could apply to any situation and any view. So he is to be commended for walking that line. The music video is put together with him in a forest interspersed with flashes, of what I can a film negative look, of a person that one would typically think of being in a mob. Here’s Solarrio’s “Safety of a Mob” through his YouTube channel and if you like what you hear be sure to support him – Richard:
Beau + Luci’s Single “Fire Dancer”
Beau + Luci is sharing with our listeners their single “Fire Dancer”. This single is the title track from their upcoming EP Fire Dancer, scheduled for release March 3. Judging by this single Beau + Luci’s style is country/rock. The single has a great beat to it with both voices harmonizing nicely to give the single a bit of otherworldly feel to it. For book lovers this next little tidbit is interesting. Within the description of this single it says that “Fire Dancer” is inspired by Cornelia Funke’s Inkheart Trilogy. Kind of cool! Here’s Beau + Luci’s “Fire Dancer” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Blue Cactus’ “I Never Knew Heartache” Music Video
Blue Cactus is sharing with us their debut music video for their single “I Never Knew Heartache”. This one is for all the waltz lovers out there. Blue Cactus dives deep into the roots of country/western music for this nostalgic feel for “I Never Knew Heartache”. Even the music video takes you back to the earlier ’70’s, before the transition to the more modern country sound that was developing. Blue Cactus is aiming for a late February, early March release of their self-titled album so if you enjoy the country/western vibe this might be one for you. Here’s the music video for “I Never Knew Heartache” from Blue Catcus’ YouTube channel – Richard:

Alxxa’s Single “Nobody”
Alxxa is sharing with us her single “Nobody”. This single will be one that the club scene will enjoy. It has an electronic punch to the instrumentals, but Alxxa’s voice is really crisp and clear. I would love to hear her sing a more traditional single. I think that would really make her voice shine like it should. Definitely interested in what she will come up with next. Here’s Alxxa’s “Nobody” that you can enjoy through SoundCloud – Richard:
