Alxxa Shares Music Video for “Nobody”

A couple of months ago Alxxa shared with us her single “Nobody”.  As I stated then this is one that would be comfortable in any dance club.  With it’s slower beat and dub step mixed in this lends itself to a sultry feel that dancers can get a little more personal with.  The video itself lends itself to this feeling as well with Alxxa center stage.  Here’s Alxxa with her music video “Nobody” for you to enjoy – Richard:

Justin Lacy’s New Single “Sealed”

Justin Lacy is sharing with our listeners his new single “Sealed” off his second album entitled Control Burn.  Justin has the folk feel down and I love the bass beat he has going through the single which is interspersed with a light sound that he pulls off with an acoustic guitar.  Justin has one of those voices that reminds me of how Bob Dylan sang.  Here’s Justin Lacy’s “Sealed” through SoundCloud for you to check out and then you can go to your digital vendor of choice to give him some love by purchasing his Control Burn album that is available now – Richard:

Psychocide’s Music Video for “Mr. Suit”

Psychocide is slamming it with their hard rock/psychedelic style.  The group’s album, Alcohol & Bad Decisions, is available now that you can find at your digital vendor of choice.  Psychocide is sharing with us their music video for their single “Mr. Suit” which takes on the adage of what goes around comes around.  I am definitely interested in checking out the rest of the album after hearing “Mr. Suit” and I think any hard rock fan will.  Here’s Psychocide’s music video “Mr. Suit” through their YouTube channel – Richard:

200 Years of Harper Collins Publishing

Harper Collins Publishers has a video up on their YouTube channel celebrating 200 years of publishing.  If you are a bibliophile then you have probably purchased a Harper Collins publication.  In the video see if you have read any of the titles, I know I have!  The short montage is set to a catchy tune and will brighten your day remember books you have read and ones that you will read in the future – Richard:

Narrow Waves’ Single “Hear Me Out”

Narrow Waves wants you to catch their wave with their single “Hear Me Out”.  This single takes the folk sound and makes it hyper with a fast moving fun beat.  This is one where, for me, the instrumentals take the lead getting the listener pulled into the song and then you take in the lyrics.  The group has released their EP later this year entitled Letters From Another State so be sure to go to your digital vendor of choice to support them.  Until then take a moment and get jacked up with Narrow Waves’ “Hear Me Out” through SoundCloud – Richard:

J. Ven’s Single “Barely Alive”

J. Ven is giving the ComicPop listeners a chance to check out his single “Barely Alive”.  This single has a great pop/R&B feel to it that just draws the listener in from the beginning of the song.  J. Ven does have a softer voice so he will have to be wary of the instrumentals occasionally overtaken his voice.  In “Barely Alive” he walks that fine line of blending his voice with the instrumentals during the chorus where the music swells, but he works it well.  Loved his voice, loved his sound and can’t wait to hear what else he will be releasing.  Here’s J. Ven’s “Barely Alive” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Emma Charleston’s “Wonderland”

Emma Charleston is back and sharing with us her latest single “Wonderland”.  Emma gives us a folksy ballad that fits her strong clear voice.  With her second folk single out this seems to be the genre of choice for her, but as with any artist they will have fun with other genres as well.  As with Emma’s first single “Falling”, “Wonderland” will be enjoyed by our listeners of folk music and some that want to enjoy a solid ballad that transports you into your mind’s memory of a loved shared.  Here’s Emma Charleston’s “Wonderland” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Ep 73 ComicPop Visits with Author Ryan Uytdewilligen

Ep 73 ComicPop Visits with Author Ryan Uytdewilligen

The ComicPop Crew get to have fun discussing coming-of-age movies with Ryan Uytedewilligen, the actual author of The 101 Most Influential Coming of Age Movies reference book.  The Crew mentions some of their favorites, which weren’t on Ryan’s list.  What did he thank of them?  Were there raised voices?  Nah…just a lot of fun.

Music clips:

  1. “Strangers Like Me”, Tarzan Soundtrack, Phil Collins, Walt Disney Records, 1999.
  2. “One Call Away”, Nine Track Mind, Charlie Puth, Artist Partner Group, 2016.
