Ep 40 ComicPop Rockin’ in the Dirt with Lady Low

The ComicPop Crew had the pleasure of Lady Low sharing their album, And They Say Romance Is Dead with us.  The drop of this album and the timing of our review isn’t a coincidence happening around Valentine’s Day.  Lady Low released the album on February 12 and today is the drop of our podcast for them.  So happy Valentine’s Day from ComicPop Library and Lady Low with their album And They Say Romance Is Dead.  Thanks to Lady Low and Katie Trimble of The MuseBox for their continued support of ComicPop Library.

And I’m Back

comicpoplogo-facebook2april1

If you were wondering why it was quiet here the last few days it’s because I took a small vacation.  As I mentioned on our Facebook account but not on the site April Brookman one of our Co-Hosts, made it to the Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Honor Band.  Since this was on her own and not through the local school district we had to get her to Lincoln and stay with her during her practice through her performance.  So that’s is where we have been since last Wednesday.  I’m happy to report she did us and ComicPop proud.  She made 5th chair in her section and the guest conductor, John Kilkenny (BM @ The Juilliard School & MM @ Temple University), let her conduct the band during one of their rehearsal sessions.  She was fabulous as always and you can tell I’m a proud Father – Richard

Diaz Grimm’s Single “Quarterbacks”

muse_G8C3831(1)

Take a look at the music video that Diaz Grimm is sharing with us.  The single is entitled “Quarterbacks” and features Lukan Raisey and Spycc.  All of our fans that enjoy Rap will like this single.  The lyrics do get a little muddy at times, but over all I liked the single.  Diaz is taking the long trip from New Zealand to be at SXSW so take in his session if you are going to be there.  Now before you click the play button to the music video for “Quarterbacks” be warned that it is a mature video.  Other than that check out “Qarterbacks” from Diaz Grimm’s YouTube channel – Richard:

Elida Almeida Shares her Music Video for “Lebam Ku Bo”

museAlbum_Art

Elida Almeida is sharing with the ComicPop listeners her music video to her single “Lebam Ku Bo”.  This single has an island feel to me that comes through with a flowing rhythm.  Elida’s voice is a very clear alto that soothes the listener as she sings.  The video takes you on a colorful trip through the countryside.  Elida will be coming to SXSW this year all the way from Cape Verde, so if you happen to be in Austin during SXSW stop by her session.  Until then watch the music video, for “Lebam Ku Bo”, that Elida is sharing with us from her Vevo YouTube channel – Richard:

Cado’s Premiere of the First Single “A.M.”

Cado

The rap duo from Boston Cado has graciously allowed ComicPop Library the premiere of their first single “A.M.” featuring Eventide.  “A.M.” is from their upcoming “FREE WIFI” project.  This is one where the single is not an in your face type of single.  It has a very nice flowing rhythm that I could listen to just by itself.  The lyrics are nice and clear and isn’t muddled at all.  Cado is making sure you get to hear all of their music, which some artists aren’t overly concerned about.  For some the lyrics might be a little rough, but this should not be a surprise within the rap industry.  This is one that got my head to bobbing and really enjoyed.  Cado wants you to check it out so they have provided a link through SoundCloud for the ComicPop listeners to enjoy.  I’m looking forward to hearing more from them in the future.  Here’s Cado’s “A.M.” featuring Eventide – Richard:

Rolla Olak Music Video for their Single “Ghost Rider”

city bird publicityRolla

Rolla Olak is sharing with the ComicPop Library listeners the music video for their single “Ghost Rider”.  “Ghost Rider” is from Rolla Olak’s third album Heavy Feathers.  The sound to this single is laid back and easy to listen to.  The style kind of reminded me of what Bruce Springsteen or Tom Petty sounds like when they are single one of their slower paced songs.  I like the sound and enjoyed “Ghost Rider” because it put me in a relaxed mood.  The music video will put you in a trance if you aren’t careful.  Thanks to Rolla Olak for sharing “Ghost Rider” with us through Tone Shed Records YouTube channel – Richard:
